Victor makes his creature due to those long nights he becomes very ill after his monster is created. pg 56 Henry goes to Ingolstadt to continue his studies along with that he realizes Frankenstein is very ill so he aids his friend.

Victor's Character Development

In chapter 1, Victor was a very innocent child. Once Victor goes to Ingolstadt he becomes very distant from his friends and family because his studies occupied most of his time. After he creates his creation, his personality becomes more unstable and dramatic. Victors personality was changed because he was so focused on his project. Victor is motivated by the thought of being able to further science.

After the creature realizes that the family that he is stealing from is in fact being saddened by their poverty the creature helps Felix by gathering wood and putting it on their doorstep so that Felix won't have to do it.
