    Victor starts off sick and gets better. His brother is killed and he gets sent back to Geneva. He then gets sad because his close friend Justine is falsely charged with William's murder. Victor finds solace in nature before being taken on emotional rollercoaster by the tale told by the monster of the events leading up to that point.

    The monster had been living next to the cottagers for a long time but they had never seen him. He was scared that they would run away, but never took the risk for a long time. Then, he went into the house and got assaulted then thrown out. P.129

    The monster tries to take a child and make friends with him. He then learns that the child has the last name Frankenstein, and strangles the boy for it. P.136

    After being discriminated against by all of the people he came into contact with, he decided that people would never learn to live with him. He then asked for Victor to make him a wife, at the promise that he would run away with her to South America. P.139

    Victor received a threat from the monster that he would "be with him on his wedding night" if Victor didn't make a wife for him. So, he decided to go on a trip. Clerval came with. P.146

    Victor's Character Changes (3)

    In Chapter 20, Victor destroys the wife that he had been creating for the monster, while the monster was standing right in plain sight watching him. This shows a change in his character because although he is still scared of the creature, he begins to act in defiance against his adversary.

    Victor is accused of the murder of Henry Clerval

    "The examination, the presence of the magistrate and witnesses, passed like a dream from my memory when I saw the lifeless form of Henry Clerval stretched before me." P.169
    This quote shows the moment where Victor realizes that the murder which he had been accused of was that of his very best friend. This fits under the theme of unjust society because is is unfair how his friend was stolen from him.

    Victor has dangerous knowledge about the monster and how he caused the deaths of William, Justine and Henry.

    The creature shows his monstrosity by killing the person that Victor loved the most.
    "She was there, lifeless and inanimate, thrown across the bed, her head hanging down and her pale and distorted features half covered by her hair." (Pg.186)

    The monster feels isolated once Victor dies.

    "But soon I shall die, and what I now feel be no longer felt." (page 211)
    The monster has hated his creator for so long that when the reality of his creator dying hit him, he realized the wrong that he had done and that he was now truly alone.

    Victor's Character Changes (4)

    In Chapter 24, Victor begins his pursuit of the monster across the globe. In the previous set of chapters, he showed that he was acting in defiance because he disagreed with what the monster wanted. Now, he just wants to kill the monster for all of the harm that it has caused towards him and his loved ones. This is a big shift since Victor was typically against violence for the entire book up until this point.
