    As the creature is describing the story of what happened to him after Victor had created him. the creature talks about the family that indirectly taught him how to speak, and taught him how to have emotional feelings. "The family, after having been thus occupied for a short time, extinguished their lights and retired, as I conjectured, to rest."Page 104.

    After the creature realizes that the family that he is stealing from is in fact being saddened by their poverty the creature helps Felix by gathering wood and putting it on their doorstep so that Felix won't have to do it. "they placed food before the old man when they reserved none for themselves." Page 106.

    While observing the family that the creature shows lots of interest in we find out that he learned how to speak from the family that he watched through the small crack.

    The creature finally decided to go confront De Lacey. He talks to De Lacey about how lonely he is. He then gets run out of the house by Felix, as well as Safie running out of the house. Page 127-129.

    The creature finally explains why he killed William. The creature wanted a friend and since William was so young he had a sense of influence that he had an influenced perception of life. However, upon finding out that he was a Frankenstein the creature couldn't control his anger and killed William. Page 137.
