    British soldiers were comprising about 10,000 each charged well protected. German position and 4 hours later over 8,000 men were killed mainly by machine guns. These machine guns were mounted on aircraft and used on warships.

    Buckels attend school in Nevada, Missouri also he caught scarlet fever disease but survived it while his brother passed away.

    This required every man between ages 21-30 to register into the military service. 1st time the U.S government had established a draft before the war. A few months later officers at camps were training more than 500,000 draftes.
  • Frank Buckles

    Frank Buckles
    Buckles got enlisted at the age of 16 and went through basic training at Fort Riley in Kansas. During the war Buckles drove ambulances and motorcycles for the Army’s 1st Fort Riley Casual Detachment

    He sailed for England on the Carpathia, the ship that helped save survivors of the Titanic sinking in 1912.
  • 369th Regimants

    369th Regimants
    Henery Jhonson manned the frontline of the great war this day early in the morning. He heard someone cutting a barbed wire. He then fired a rocket into the sky and the germans started throwing grenades toward him he got hit on his left leg and his side he also got shot in the shoulder and the thigh. Another soldier was fighting with him and they became the first from the 369th to receive the french Croix de Guerre.

    American forces joined French and British Forces at the 2nd battle of Marne. The allies counterattacked then the german troops retreated. The allies launched the Meuse- Argonne-Offensive so the AEF could infiltrate the german line and secure the Sudan railroad

    This event leads to ending the WWl. German was starting to have fewer and fewer soldiers so the army started to become weakened this is the day when Germany began to lose the war.
