    Ezra Matthew Miller’s life began on September 30, 1992 in Wyckoff, New Jersey. He was born to his mother Marta and father Robert S. Miller. He was also the youngest out of three with two older sisters. His parents can be considered as inspiration for his entertainment career due to his mom being a modern dancer and his father a publisher.

    Since he was young Ezra had a struggle with speech impediment. At the age of six years old he was in opera classes which were a big help to him and allowed him overcome this issue. From these classes he was picked to sing in Philip Glass's opera White Raven.

    Since he was young Ezra never felt a click when it came to school and always felt like an outcast as he has said before in many interviews. Once he was 16 he personally decided that it was not something that was made for him and dropped out to start his acting career.

    Not only did Ezra pursue acting, but in early 2011 he started up his band called “Sons of an Illustrious Father.” So when he isn't on screen he is most likely working with the band. It hasn’t died away either sense there are still shows and mini tours.

    One of Ezra’s biggest roles that put him even further out there was his role in “We Need To Talk About Kevin” 2011. He played the role of the 16 year old Kevin alongside Tilda Swinton as his mother. Even though many were afraid of the character he played Ezra said that he never thought of Kevin as an evil person, but rather understood where he was coming from. He also stated that preparing for the role took two years and it was a very straining one because he became so immersed in the character.

    In this same year one of his popular roles in the movie “Another Happy Day” got even more recognition. Due to this early role he got nominated for and won the Hamptons International Film Festival for Breakthrough Performer.

    The recognition only increased in 2011 though due to his performances in “We Need to Talk About Kevin” and “Another Happy Day”. Both films gained him a Best Supporting Actor nomination for the British Independent Film Awards.

    However Ezra wasn’t able to escape scandals. In 2011 the young actor was involved in a drug scandal that involved the possession of marijuana. The charges were soon dropped, but he still had to pay a fine of $600.

    Later that same year Ezra kept getting asked about the situation and his views on it. He said that he found no reason for the charges because to him it wasn’t a big deal and would continue his usage sense it caused no real harm.

    Another very popular role he played was in the popular teen movie “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” that released in 2012. He played the pretty well-known helping lead as Patrick along side Emma Watson and Logan Lerman. From this role he gained a lot of fame and more recognition.

    In that same year Ezra confessed that the industry added pressure on him as many said that due to him coming out he harmed chances of becoming a lead in future projects. He realized how difficult it is in the industry to come out as anything that wasn’t straight or cis-gender. Even through this he still stood strong and continued to be true to himself which in a way made him a role model.

    One of his first few awards was given to him in 2012. He was the co-recipient of the Chopard Trophy in Cannes along with Shailene Woodley. This trophy was given at the Cannes Film Festival

    Ezra had in interview in 2012 with “Out” magazine about his view on love. He said that he has no particular view on it and who interests him. He says that everyone is very different and just generally loves people with gender not even being an issue.

    In 2012 Ezra Miller also got a lot of other wins. One of them being the Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Patrick in “The Perks of Being a WallFlower.”

    Ezra is passionate about many things, but one of them have to be clean drinking water. In 2012 Ezra appeared in a PSA called “My body of water” which talked about NYC’s water supply getting poisoned through hydraulic fracking and along with other actors voiced his opinion on keeping the water clean.

    In 2012 Ezra Miller took a huge leap and came out as queer to all of Hollywood. Many told him it was a mistake, but he thought otherwise. Shortly afterwards he began to become more open on discussing his sexual identity and anxieties.

    In 2013 Ezra got into a pretty serious relationship with fellow actor Erin Urb which lasted from 2013-2016. They could be seen together as each other’s dates for red carpets and they got engaged in 2015. Due to personal issues the couple split up in 2016.

    In 2016 Ezra Miller took on the role of Flash in the DC Comic movies. His first act in the role was in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” From this role Ezra became the first open LGBTQ+ actor to have a major role in a popular superhero franchise.

    Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
    A more recent film that once again put him back in the view of the public was “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” where he played Credence Barebone. He was very excited when he got the script for it because since he was very young he adored the Harry Potter books. His love for the series started when he was seven when he went to a summer camp and felt all alone so he related to Harry in a sense except he knew what true loneliness was like.

    At the moment Ezra's career seems to be rising at a fast pace and he has a lot planned for the coming year or so. Some of them are two really anticipated films being "The Flash" (playing Barry Allen) which will be one of his first solo superhero films and the second installment of "The Fantastic Beasts and where to find them" where he will come back as Credence Barebone. There is a lot of potential in Ezra and his success will rise as the years go by.
