However, the crisis of this stage manifests in Shreks new dad life. He feels stuck and overwhelmed with responsibility which, therefore, causes a strain on his friendship with his pet Donkey. -

King Harold (65) who was Princess Fiona's father, unfortunately, passed away from sickness from turning a frog back into human form. Fiona has her last words with her father as he expresses his love for his daughter. He confesses deep regret that he was unable to spend more time with her because she was locked up in the castle tower that was guarded by a dragon. The crisis in this stage involves reflecting on one's life and regretting missed opportunities.
