I finished the first section of Eragon
I really am enjoying the book because it is exciting and has unusual twists and turns! Eragon, Saphira and Brome set off to capture and maybe to kill the creatures/people who killed Eragon's uncle. I can't wait to find out what happens next! -
eragon learns how to make a saddle and brome gives a lecture on dragons
Brome shows Eragon how to make a saddle out of leather without using tools. Brome also tells eragon about dragons, their eggs and habitat. Eragon learns that dragons can hatch out of their eggs anytime they want! -
Brom and Eragon arrive at Yazuac
As Brom and Eragon arrive at Yazuac, Brom spots an Urgal footprint. Suddenly, Brom realizes that the Urgals are still in the town. As they ride away, one of the 2 Urgals swipes Eragon from Cadoc (Eragon's horse). Eragon saves Brom from the other Urgal and leads the 2 Urgals away from Brom and gets cornered. He uses magic and kills both of them. -
Daret
When Brom, Eragon and Saphira reached Daret, they found it apparantly deserted. They entered the city cautiosly, and found the main road through the city blockaded with carts. Suddenly and man with a bow and arrow stepped up over the blockade and said, "you are surrounded be 60 bows and arrows men. What do you want? " Brom told him and an archer ran off to get the things. Bom and Eragon left unharmed. -
Eragon arrives in Dras-Leomas and escapes the ra'zac
Eragon and Brom got passed the 10 guards that were gaurding the gates to Dras-Leomas and found a good enough hotel. Eragon went exploring and entered a church where he found the 2 ra'zac waiting for him at the end of the hallway. Eragon fired 3 arrows at them but they dodged them. Eragon ran away and hid in a wagon before joining Brom and they rode out of the ciry to join Saphira. -
Eragon gets caught by the ra'zac
Eragon and Brom got out of Dras-Leona and find a place to sleep. Eragon was on 1st watch and got hit in the back of the head by something. He got knocked out. When he came round, the ra-zac talked to him and teased him until a stranger named Murtagh chased them away. -
Brom dies
The wound that the ra'zac had inflicted on Brom proved fatal. He asked for a bottle of wine which Murtagh provided. Brom poured the wine on his arm and there was the dragon riders sign. Brom was a dragon rider!
Then he died. -
Eragon gets captured
Eragon and Murtagh camped outside Gil'ead. Saphira was on 1st watch. She woke Eragon and said that she smelled an odd kind of horse around. Eragon woke Murtagh. Suddenly, Eragon saw a Urgal coming towards them. After a short battle, the Urgal was killed but more Urgals followed it. Eragon got knocked out and taken away. -
Eragon escapes
When Eragon woke up, he felt dizzy and hungry and thirsty. He couldn't remember any magic so he supposed his captors had drugged him. A man came into his cell with foodand water. Then he saw an unconscious elf being dragged along by 2 men. It was the elf he had been dreaming of! He supposed the food and water was drugged so when the man came in again with food, Eragon pushed it out the window. He felt weak but he found he could remember a few spells. He unlocked the door with magic and ran... -
Eragon rescues the elf
...straight into soldiers. He was about to kill them with magic when an arrow killed one. Eragon killed 3 of them with magic sparing one soldiers life. After Eragon's questions had been answered (where his sword was, where the elf was being kept etc.) , Eragon put him to sleep. Eragon got the elf and ran with Murtagh (who had rescued him from the soldiers) into a hall. -
Eragon fights the Shade
Eragon drew his sword when he saw the Shade. Murtagh warned him that Shades were many times stronger than nromal humans. Eragon and Shade circled and clashed. Eragon soon realised what Murtagh had meant. The Shade disarmed him easily and gasped in surprise when an arrow grew from his shoulder. Then he smiled and snapped it off. Then a arrow hit him dirrectly in the forhead and that possibly killed him. -
Eragon arrives at the Vardens hideout
Eragon arrived in a valley with Saphira, Murtagh and the elf. The elf was almost dead and they were being chased by over 100 urtaghs. They were surounding Eragon and he was trying to get the Varden to open the secret entrance by yelling the password. Then he realized that he was in the wrong place!! He charged through the Urgals (who were fighting Saphira) to the right place. A secret entrance opened and Eragon, Saphira, Murtagh and the elf were saved.
