Eminem meets Kimberly and her sister at a party when eminem was rapping shirtless on a table. Eminems mother took Kimberly into their home along with her Sister Dawn because they had run away from home. Later on Eminem then gets into a relationship with Kimberly. -

Organizations
Eminem has contributed to several different organizations. Eight Mile Boulevard Association is a group which promotes the 8 mile transportation and residential corridor by linking the efforts of the public. Eminem has created his own charity called Marshall Mathers Foundation. This organization helps youth in Michigan. It has made donations like food banks and youth groups in fundraisers. Eminem has also contributed to Save The Children, Small Steps Project, and Ninemillion.org -

Eminem and Kimberly had a child. They had been in an on and off relationship for 6 years before Hailie was born. -
Eminem And Kimberlys relationship
Eminem and Kimberly got married for the first time in 1999. They ended up getting divorced two years later in 2001. Eminem Gets Arrested
On June 3 2000 Eminem was arrested during an argument with Douglas Dail at a car studio. He pulled out a hand gun and pointed it at the ground. The next day in Warren, Michigan Eminem was arrested for assaulting John Guerrera. Eminem was charged with possession of a weapon and assault. He pleaded guilty in court and was then on probation for two years. -
Eminem Gets Sued By Kim
on July 7 2000 Kimberly attempted suicide. She then later sued Eminem for saying stuff about her that was not true and described how she attempted suicide. -
Academy Award
Eminem was presented with the Academy Award in the Best Original Song category Lose Yourself from the movie 8 Mile. Eminem was the first rapper to receive this award. -
Health Issues
Eminem had an addiction to prescription drugs. While Eminem was working with 8 Mile he developed sleeping problems from working 16 hour days. He was given drugs that would help him fall asleep. He soon was addicted to these and would start popping pills randomly. He was soon not able to sleep for more than 2 hours. Eminem started eating all fast food and gained a lot of weight. He would often go out and eat alone.Eminem became less recognizable because of the wight he put on. Eminem once heard two teenagers arguing over if it was actually Eminem and one kid said that's not Eminem, Eminem isn't fat. -
Child Custody
Eminem and Kim have a joint custody over their daughter Hailie. Eminem also has custody over Dawns (Kims sister) daughter Alaina. Eminem has custody over Whitney, Kims daughter from another relationship. -
Overdose
Eminem was put in the hospital due to a methadone overdose. Eminems dealer told him it was just like Vicodin but easier on the liver. He collapsed on the floor in his bathroom and was brought to the hospital. He was told he had the equivalent to 4 bags of heroin and was going to die in 2 hours. -
Eminem Cleans Himself Up
After missing Christmas with his children eminem decided to get some help. He left the hospital not fully detoxed. He went for surgery on his knee and once he got home he had a seizure. Within the next month Eminem was right back to doing drugs. He then started attending church meetings to clean up. He then went to a rehabilitation counselor for more help. -

Youtube Music Award
Eminem won the Youtube music award artist of the year which was being presented for the first time ever. This same year he was the Global Icon for the MTV EMA Music Awards -
Grammy Award
The Marshall Mathers LP 2 won a Grammy award for the best rap album. The song The Monster ft. Rihanna got the award in the best Rap/Sung Collaboration category.
