The president signed an act allowing government had authority to remove and relocate Indians to new land. This is important because it shows just how much power the U.S. had. -

This act was the first one to define citizenship and say all citizens are equal. This was important because it protected people of color right after the civil war. -

This act was passed to help protect colored people. It was important because African-Americans rights were still being violated and they needed to put a stop to it.
