    The French and Indain War

    The colonist and britin fought the french and the indins over the ohio river valley brittin won and colonist won controll over west of the appachians. This event was important to America because this was the start of westward expantion.

    Colonial Taxation Period

    The Parliament placed many taxes on the colonists. This caused the colonists them to get angry, protest and start riots. This event was important to America because this is when colonist started beleiving in there rights.
  • Boston Massacre

    The colonists started a protest in Boston. A few of the British soldiers got overwhelmed and killed 5 unarmed colonists. This event was important to America because some colonist stoped trusting brittin.
  • Intolerable Acts

    A set of acts meant to punish the colonists. This was meant as punishment for the Boston Tea Party. This event was important to America because this was the first major riot in america.
  • First Continental Congress

    50 people were chosen to lead a meeting held at a carpenter’s hall in Philadelphia. The meeting was meant to come up with a way to stop the conflicts with Brittan. This event was important to America because americans are starting to relize how bad the king is across the sea.
  • Battle of Lexington and Congress

    A battle over control of the colonists. This was a battle between the colonists vs. Brittan. If the colonists won they would gain independence, but if Briton won they would keep control over the colonists.
    This event was important to America because america knows they want independence and they are willing to fight for it.
  • The Second Continental Congress

    Sam Adams, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, Patrick Henry and George Washington meet up to try and find a way to resolve the conflict with Great Brittan. They wanted independence and didn’t want to start war.This event was important to America because they know they need to stop trhe conflyct but just dont know how.

    Battle of Bunker Hill

    The British invaded the colonists and the battle took place mostly at Breeds Hill but some took place on Bunker Hill. The British won. but helped us out in the long term. This event was important to America because brittan kept lossing men.

    Talked about independence in a comforting way and inspired the colonists to fight for independence. This event was important to America because it made people relize how little freedom they have.
  • Declaration of Independence signed

    56 delegates agreed to officially declare independence from Brittan. This event was important to America because america just keeps trying to get independence.
  • Battle in Brooklyn

    General William Howe landed on Long Island hoping to split the 13 colonies in half and take over New York. He tried to capture the Americans but failed because George Washington evacuated by boat. This event was important to America because it shows how good of a general george washington was.
  • Trenton and Princeton Victories

    General George Washington led the British South. Then when night fell, he snuck up on them and attacked when they didn’t expect it. This event was important to America because it was an esey susessfull attack.

    Even though America lost this battle it was still very helpful because of how many men and supplies were lost by the British. This was the turning point in the revolution. This event was important to America because brittan los a lot of supplys and men.

    Winter in Valley Forge

    Valley Forge was a military camp northwest of Pennsylvania. In the winter of 1777 – 1778 the American Continental Army lost 2500 soldiers due to natural causes. This event was not imporant to america becaus ewe lost a lot of men that we could have used.
  • Battle of Monmouth

    Located in Monmouth New Jersey. The Battle was a draw but ended up helping America in the long term. This event was important to America because we keep trying harder than brittan which causes us to lose less people.
  • General Corn Wallis Surrenders

    The British were trapped and had too few men to escape, so general Corn Wallis surrendered to America. This event was important to America because we are now becoming more powerfull than brittan.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    1700 American and French troops were going up against 9000 British troops. The French and colonists blocked the British troops from escaping. This event was important to America because america greatly outnumbers brittan and still is trying harder.
  • The Treaty of Paris

    A treaty signed by King George III representatives in Paris to end the American Revolutionary War. This event was important to America because we might not be independent today if this tteaty wasnt sighned.
