    Korean War
    The Korean War is about North Korea invading South Korea. North Korea wanted to spread communism so they invaded the South and almost won until the U.S joined. Then South Korea almost won until North Korea got help from China. Neither side won they both stayed the same South Korea stayed democratic and North Korea stayed communist.This event took place in Korea and started 1950 and ended 1953. The Korean War impacted politics because the U.S was scared that communism would spread.
  • Joseph McCarthy

    Joseph McCarthy
    Joseph McCarty was a senator and in 1953 he accused 57 State Department employees of being communist.His assumption was never proven.The people that were accused were fired and others were afraid to defend the workers.McCarthy also said a few army men were communist,McCarthy was eventually lost power.This event took place in the U.S.This event is important because he caused panic for accusing people of being Communist.This event impacted Society because he spread fear and suspicion of communism.
  • Brown v. Board of Education

    Brown v. Board of Education
    The people involved with this event were Oliver Brown, the school board, the Supreme Court and Thurgood Marshall.This event took place in Washington DC in 1954. This event is important because the Brown v. Board of Education helped integrate the schools. This event is also important because it turned over the Plessy v. Feguson Case. The Plessy v. Feguson said the the schools could be segregated as long as they were equal. This event impacted society because the law integrated the schools.

    1945-1954 the birthrate in the United States increased tremendously. The birth rate grew from 9 million to 29 million. Couples were having children to make up for lost time during the Great Depression and WWll. During the Great Depression children were to expensive or to difficult, but after WWll health care for children and pregnant women during the 1940's-50's was better.
  • Berlin Wall

    Berlin Wall
    The countries that were in this event were East Berlin, West Berlin, and East Germany. 3 million east Berliners fled to west Berlin embarrassed the Soviet Union. Suddenly in August 1961 East Germany soldiers began building a wall of concrete and barbed wire all across Berlin. Symbol of the Cold War the wall fell in 1989.
  • Cuban Missle Crisis

    Cuban Missle Crisis
    This was with the US & Soviets.The USSR gave Cuba weapons.JFK said that U.S. warships would turn back the Soviets. At the last minute the Soviet ships turned back. The Soviets took the missiles out of Cuba & the U.S. took missiles out of Turkey.This event was important because this was the closet the world was to full-scale nuclear war.In 1968 a direct hot line was installed to help defuse similar situations.This event impacted society because people were panicking because of the weapons.
  • MLK Assassination

    MLK Assassination
    In the event the Civil Rights Activist Martin Luther King was shot & killed.King went to Memphis to support black sanitation workers on strike.At the Lorraine Motel room 306 James Earl Ray shot Dr.King with a Remington Game Master riffle.Dr.King was hit in the jaw severing his spinal cord.Ray was captured two months later in London.This event is important because Dr.King was a important man who fought for Civil Rights.This event impacted society because the Civil Rights movement ended with him.

    Richard Nixon was president in 1963s.He promoted peace and honor in Vietnam,and law and order at home.Nixon backed off of Great Society were too expensive,raised prices and high unemployment,he increased gov't spending,he also made an oil embargo.Watergate was a conspiracy Nixon knew about the Rep. braking into the Dem. office.This event was important because he is the only president to resin from office.This event affected politics because Rep. learned secrets they weren't supposed to know.

    Ronald Reagan was an Republican and before he was the president he was governor of California and a movie star.He was also apart of two big events Star wars and Reagan cut taxes.The other events he was in were the Iran Contract Affair,USSR summits,helped reduce nuclear weapons, he was also almost assassinated.This event is important because he did a lot of great things for the U.S.This event impacted politics because it helped people think of who they wanted to vote for.

    The Persian Gulf war started when Saddam Hussein sent 100,000 troops into Kuwait.Kuwait is rich in oil,so to prevent Irag from spreading its influence,the U.S. joined.America sent troops.January 16,1991 United Nations launched an air attack called Dessert Storm.Within 24 hrs Iraqi defense missiles were useless.This event was important because it cost billions to rebuild including millions to clean up the oil spill.This event impacted politics because it cost billions to fix everything.

    The first social network cite was Geocities.The first modern network was friendster.After that MySpace,Facebook,Twitter,Instagram,Snapchat,Linkedln,YouTube,Pintrest and many more were created.The importance of these networks are easy ways to connect with friends,loved ones,share news and updates,way to get to know people and to help with job searching. this event impacted society because social networking has become very mobile an it change the way we interact with each other.
