United Nations
The United Nations was a Peace Keeping Organization in New York City.The United Nations helped solve world problems.They had six major bodies,General assembly,Economic and social council,International court of justice,trusteeship,secretariat, and Security council.This took place at the Yolta conference.This organization was important because it helped the U.S.The United Nations Impacted the society because they tried to solve many world problems that people today still are trying to solve today. -
NATO/Warsaw Pact
NATO is a North Atlantic Treaty Organization. What this organization would do is help each other if they were being attacked. This took place in the headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. The Warsaw Pact was soviet Unions military alliance set up to go against-ed NATO in May 1955. This had then ended in 1991. These events were important because it prompted the United States. This impacted American politics because it helped stop spread communism. -
Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks was born on December 1, 1913. What she did to become well known was she refused to surrender her bus seat to a white passenger and got arrested for it in Montgomery, Alabama 1955. This event was important because it led to ending segregation and started the Jim Crow laws. This also was important because it integrated buses after a year of boycotting. The impact was that the Montgomery bus boycott introduced nonviolent protesting after her death in on October 2005. -
Elvis Presley
Elvis Presley was born on January 8,1935 in Mississippi.As a child he was very talented that he won a talent show at the age of 8 and became well known later on in his life because he then started sing on television. He had the nickname of "Kind of Rock'N Roll" because he made music that became very popular. What was most important about Elvis was that he had 94 gold singles and 40 gold albums and also started in 33 films. He impacted American society because he was a big influence to pop music. -
JFK Assassination
John F. Kennedy was a very liked and known President, although when he became President he won by a narrow margin in 1960 when he ran against Richard Nixon.As he continued to be President, three years later he got assassinated. November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas.He got a gunshot wound to his head and died in the hospital at 2:00 PM. The shooter was Lee Harvey Oswald. This impacted American politics because now secret service has to be assigned to anyone that's running for president to be safe. -
Medicare/ Medicaid
Medicare was started by Lyndon Johnson in 1966 and Medicaid was set up by Social Security Administration in 1965.What Medicare was, it covered about half of the health care charges that citizens over the age of 65 had from hospitals and the government helped pay hospital bills.Medicaid was similar but it helped lower income people had of all ages. They were important because it was the largest source of founding for people with low income. It impacted U.S society because it helped Americans. -
Gerald Ford
Ford was a Republican in the political party. Before he was president, he was a Michigan Congressman for 25 years. Gerald was President from 1974 to 1976. He was important because as President he started trade with the Soviet Union. Also he was part of a Warren commotion for the investigation of John F. Kennedy. During his Presidency the big impact he made was Pardoning Richard Nixon. -
Challenger Explosion
The Space Shuttle Challenger had 7 people involved. 6 of those people were actual astronauts and the other was a kindergarten teacher. She was sent to space with the astronauts to catch peoples attention to join NASA. The Shuttle took off in Cape Canaveral, Florida at 11:39 am. After about 59 seconds they took off, there was black smoke coming out. After 74 seconds it turned into flames and disintegrated. None of them had survived. This event was important because it impacted American society. -
Bill Clinton
Clinton was a democrat in the political party. Before he became President he was the Governor of Arkansas. Bill was President from 1992 to 2000. Why he was important during his presidency was because he helped health care reform, sent 20,00 troops to bonsai, signed a test bad treaty and he was the second President to be put on trial. The big impact he had was that he lowered deficit. -

Bush was a Republican in the Political Party. Before he became President he was the Governor of Texas. When he became President he was President from 2000 to 2008. He was important during his Presidency because he did tax relief, No child left behind act, Saddam Hussein was executed and war on terror. The impact was that September 11, 2001 occurred. -
September 11
On September 11, 2001 there was three terrorist attacks in the U.S. The first one was on a Tuesday morning 9/11/08 in NYC. The second was at 8:40 am in Virginia and was hit into the Pentagon. At 9:20 am one was hit into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Its intended target was guessed to be the white house. It was important because many people died from this. This Impacted American Politics because it made the U.S want to be more secured. -
Financial Crisis of 2008
This event was set by a U.S financial Sector.The Financial Crisis was,in 2008 the world economy faced its most dangerous crisis since the Great Depression.Companies that normally rely on credit suffered heavily,including the American auto industry.As well as the banks trusting no one to pay them back,stopped making the loans. It was important because insurance companies traded for credit swaps making trillions.It impacted American society because deep recession had taken over most of the world.
