  • Baby Boom

    Baby Boom
    The Baby Boom involved American couples repopulating increasingly after WW2. After the war many Americans wanted to start a family but many of them worried that it would be too expensive. The birth rate in the U.S grew drastically to 29 million from 9 million. The Baby Boom happened in the U.S around the 1945s. This was important because it made up for lost time during the great depression and WW2. The Baby Boom impacted society because it increased the population of the U.S.
  • The Korean War

    The Korean War
    The War had S.Korea, N.Korea and the U.S, U.N and China. The war started after N.Korea who was Communist invade S.Korea who was Democratic. Commander Macarthur pushed N.korea back after N.Korea took over half of S.Korea. China made Douglas retreat after they helped N.Korea. The war was in June 1950 in S.Korea and N.Korea.This was important because if the U.S did not help S.Korea they would've turned communist. It impacted society because a memorial was made in Washington DC for the Korean war.
  • Brown vs. Board

    Brown vs. Board
    The trial had Brown, Thurgood Marshall, Kansas, board of education and the supreme court. Brown wanted his daughter to attend an all white school since it was closer to home. The school did not care, the NAACP helped file a lawsuit against them having Thurgood as their lawyer. This happened in 1954 in Topeka, Kansas. This is important because it violated the 14th amendment, over turning the case. This impacted society because Brown won, then desegregated all schools.
  • Berlin Wall

    Berlin Wall
    The Berlin Wall involved the USSR & citizens from Berlin, Germany. The Berlin wall was built overnight, made out of concrete and barbed wire all across the wall. The wall was 69 and a half miles long it was built because the soviet union was embarrassed that many east Berlins fled to west Berlin because they didn't want to be communist. This was important because it was a symbol of the Cold War and fell in 1989. This impacted Politics because the Soviet Union Forced east Berlins to be communist.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    This involved the U.S, Soviet Union and Cuba. After the Soviet union sent Cuba weapons the U.S sent U-2 spies to take photos of missile sites in Cuba. The news was released, later had a 13 day stand off, close to nuclear war after the S.U took missiles back from Cuba and Turkey. This happened in October 1962, it's important because in 1963 a direct "Hotline" was installed between the U.S and Soviet Union. This impacted Politics because 2 treaties were signed related to nuclear weapons.
  • Medicare/ Medicaid

    Medicare/ Medicaid
    LBJ,S.S.A and Gov't was involved.LBJ started Medicare the Gov't helped pay bills of citizens who are over 65. Medicaid was set up by the S.S.A it gave money to help the low-incomes of all ages with medical bills.It happened in the U.S in 1965 & 1966 its important because its the largest source of funding for people with low income. It impacted society because OAS's paid more than 3X for insurance as younger people do. It varies from state to state and because someone is in 1, but not in another.
  • MLK Assassination

    MLK Assassination
    MLK's assassination involved MLK and James Earl Ray. When MLK went out of his motel room Ray shot him from the parking lot. MLK got hit in the jaw by a rifle, Ray left the rifle with his ID on it that lead the FBI to catch him in London. This happened in April 4,1968 in Memphis,TN at the Lorraine Motel in room 306. It's important because it was to silence the leader of Americas non violent civil rights. This impacted society because the Civil Rights movement basically ended with his death.
  • Richard Nixon/ Watergate

    Richard Nixon/ Watergate
    It involved Nixon and William Felt. 5 men broke into the Democratic headquarters to steal information for the next election.They left the door a little open Nixon said he was not part of it until William M. Felt (Deep Throat) of the FBI released a secret tape of Nixon showing him guilty. This happened in Washington D.C on June 17, 1972. This is important because Nixon then went to trial for impeachment. This impacted politics because before trial Nixon was the 1st presidents to quit office.
  • Ronald Reagon

    Ronald Reagon
    This involved the U.S and Ronald, Ronald Reagan was a Republican and the 40th president of the United States. Before he was president Ronald was the Governor of California and was a movie star in 1937-1964. This happened in California in 1980-1988. This is important because during his presidency put the 1st woman, Sandra Day O'Connor on the Supreme Court Justice. This impacted Society because he spent $100 billion on defense which was called "Star Wars" and had Reaganomics, which cut taxes.
  • George H.W. Bush

    George H.W. Bush
    This involved George H.W. Bush, he was a Republican and the 41st president. Before being president he was Ronald Reagan's vice president. And George was also a navy pilot in World War 2 before being president. This happened in Texas in 1988 - 1992. This is important because he helped pass the American with Disabilities Act, which helped many people. This impacted the economy because during his presidency he was involved with the Persian Gulf War.
  • Hurricane Katrina

    Hurricane Katrina
    This involved the U.S & Kuwait, Hurricane Katrina was the U.S costliest hurricane. It was also a catastrophic flooding due to Levee failure which made 80% of the city flooded. This happened on August 29, 2005 in New Orleans. This was important because 70 countries pledged monetary donations to New Orleans, Kuwait made the largest single pledge of $500 million. This impacted society because 150,000+ houses & 900+ churches were destroyed & had 1836 people dead and 705 missing.
  • Barack Obama Inauguration

    Barack Obama Inauguration
    This involved the U.S & Barack Obama, his inauguration was one of the most observed global event in history. In his inauguration his wife Michelle Obama held the bible which was used by Abraham Lincoln at his 1861 inauguration. This happened in Washington D.C on Tuesday January 20th in 2009. This is important because they had 1 million attendees & millions watching on TV or the internet. This impacted Politics because he became the 1st African American to become president of the United States.
