Missouri Compromise
A treaty that prohibited slavery in the Louisianna territory. The only place slavery was allowed was in Missouri.
This is important because it was a major step in abolishing slavery, People started to realize how bad slavery was. -

Whe the Union bombarded Fort Sumter for days, and eventually weeks until the confederates inside surrendered.

AKA First Manassas. one of the first major land battles of the civil war. Confederate soldiers were at a significant disadvantage.

Second Battle of Bull Run
Stonewall Jackson captures a Union supply depot, damaging the meas of communication in the Union. After all, everything resulted in a stalemate.
This is imprtant because they lost a lot of men on each side. -
Antietam
About 23,000 casualties. It was a batlle fought on Union soil, and won by the union, for the Union! It was the bloodies single day in the history of everything!
This is inportant because it gave other countries the knowlege of who the confederacy really was. Making them not allies. -
Emancipation Proclamation Issued
Freed some of the slaves. Mostly meant to give support to the Union, using the slave issue as a playing card. Meant to keep the Union together.
This is important because this is what Lincoln was waiting to issue! This was (IMO) a turning point in the war. -
Battle of Vicksburg Ends
UNION WIN! When Ulyses S. Grant sieged the town of Vicksburg, Mississippi after pushing the confederate army toward it.
this is important because this was a good win for the Union, and we would cntinue to hold that position throughout the war. -
Battle of Gettysburg
Fought for about three days, this was one of the most loody days ever. This was the battle with the largest number of casualties. This is know as the wars turning point. UNION WIN!

Gettysburg Address
One of the most well known speeches in American history! Made by president Abraham Lincoln, it was givin at a soldiers cemetary. He carfully crafted the speech, and explained how all humans are equal.

13th Amendment
The 13th amendment made it so that slavery is now outlawed! This was after the emancipation proclimation, because they needed to officially outlaw slavery.
This is important because slavery is now over!!!! -
Battle of Appomatox
The last battle between the cnfederate army and Union army until the condfderates surrendered. This was one of the last battles of the American civil war. They went to Wilmer Mclain's house parlor to sign the surrender treaty.
This is important because it was the end of the civil war! -
Lincoln Assassinated
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth while watching a play. John Wilkes Booth was a confederate sympethiser, as well as a douche bag.
This is important because even though a war may be over, there were still enemies. -
Andrew Johnson Impeachment
One of the ost dramatic events in political history. He was aquitted by one vote. He broke the law!
This is important because this woud've been the first impeachment of a president. -
15th Amendment
Protects any citizen from being denied the right vote because of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.
This is important because this ends the fight fr citizens to vote!
