Christopher Kyle was born on April 8,1974 in Odessa Texas, United States. -
Joining The Military
For chris's first real career he started as a professional rodeo bronco rider until he latter injured his arm. When he recovered he applied to the marines and his navy recruiter pushed him to join the seals but they rejected him for having pins in his arm. He then recived a letter for joining the Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL school (BUDS) and joined in 1999. -
Being Assigned to SEAL Team 3
was assigned to SEAL Team 3 and served four tours of duty which included a large number of major battles. His first kill confirmed as a sniper was when an invasion of iraq was taking place. -
How Effective he Really Was
He was so effective that the enemy combatants named him Shaitain Ar-Ramadi, which translates to The Devil of Ramadi. Later after he was named that a $20,000 dollar bounty was put on him then changed to $80,000. -
Confirmed kills
Out of 255 claimed kills, 160 were confirmed. His farthest confirmed kill took place in 2008 near Sadr City at 2,100 yards away -
His Furthest Kill
He saw a combatant with a rocket launcher moving towards an American convoy and killed him with a single round. -
Leaving The Military
He left the military in 2009 and lived in Midlothian with his wife and 2 kids. -
The Realease of His Book
When chris was released from the military in 2009 he started writing his book 'American Sniper' and was released in 2012 and was a best seller. -
His Death
On Febuary, 2 2013 he was shot at a shooting range by a former marine along with his friend at the range. -
