U.S. Declaration of Independance
In 1776, the Declaration of Independance was written and finally set a mark in American History. The United States was finally free from Great Britain, and Americans were now an independant nation. -
Cry of Dolores
In 1810, Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a priest from Dolores, Mexico, rang a church bell that was a signal of the end of Spanish rule. This is what sparked a war for Mexican independance. -
Battle of Medina
This happened in the year 1813. This battle was won by the Spainards and lead to the death of over a 1000 rebels. -
James Long
In 1819, James Long wanted Texas to either become independant or join the U.S. He attacked Texas with 120 troops. After he left for Galveston Island, Texas was attacked by 500 Spanish troops. He returned with another force but was forced to surrender and was then murdered. -
Constitution of 1824
In 1824, the Constitution of 1824 was released. It was sort of like the U.S. Constitution in which the government didn't have all the power and was split between three different branches. Many Texans and Tejanos approved of this.
