Birth
Che Guevara was born in Argentina. His parents, Ernesto Guevara Lynch and Celia de la Serna y Llosa were a fairly wealthy middle class couple. -
Guevara entered to University
Guevara entered the University of Buenos Aires to study medicine.
However in 1951 he left the school to travel around South America with a friend. But in 1952 he returned to University and in 1953 he finally finished. -
He met Fidel Castro
He meets Fidel Castro and his brother Raul in Mexico and they plan the coup in Cuba. -
He gets married
He marries Hilda Gadea, this was his first marriage. However, it only lasted 4 years, then he married Aleida March. -
He is arrested by the Mexican police
Fidel Castro, his brother Raúl, Che Guevara and most of the July 26 Movement group in Mexico were arrested by the Mexican police. On June 24 they were released. -
He arrives Cuba + Batista leaves
The 26th of July 1956 Che Guevara and Fidel Castro arrived to Cuba. During the next two years they tried to end with Batista so they did guerilla warfare and finally the 1st of January 1959 after the battle of Santa Clara, Batisa left the coutry inmediately because he was afraid of being killed. -
Becomes commander
Che was appointed Commander of La Cabana fortress, President of the National Bank of Cuba, and Minister of Industries after Castro came to power. -
República Democrática del Congo
Che Guevara had decided to leave the government at the end of 1964 in order to lead the dispatch of Cuban troops to other countries to support the revolutionary movements there. Africa, particularly the Democratic Republic of the Congo looked to him to be an ideal place for him to act. Che saw the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is situated in the heart of Africa and borders nine countries, as a massive "focus" from which the revolution could spread across the continent. -
Revolutionary soul
Already relieved of his posts in the Cuban State, Che Guevara returned to Latin America to launch a revolution that he hoped would be continental in scope: valuing Bolivia's strategic position. -
Death
Ernesto Guevara was betrayed by local peasants and fell into an ambush by the Bolivian army in the Valle Grande region, where he was wounded, mistreated and killed.
