    A Cartoonist Enters the Scene
    Charles Schulz was born on November 26, 1922 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was born to Dena and Carl Schulz. Dena was a waitress, and Carl was a barber. Charles lived outside the Twin Cities and Needles California, after the onset of the Great depression. Schulz knew at an early age he wanted to be a cartoonist. He sat down and read the funnies every week with his dad. Shortly after he was drafted in the war his mom passed away with cervical cancer.

He is in love with the little red head girl, but cannot get the courage to go talk to her. Even though he gets grief from his friends, gets his kite stuck in a tree, and even Snoopy, he still remains a hero in many American hearts.

He is the dog we'd all like to be. While sitting on top of his dog house he ponders the meaning of life as he tortures the cat next door, writes a novel, and travels to the moon.

    Charles married the woman of his dreams. This was the girl who inspired the little red head girl, charlie brown's love interest. It paved the way for Charles's marriage proposal. Even though Charlie Brown couldn't muster up the courage to talk to the girl, Charles eventually got enough courage to ask for her hand in marriage.

    Schroeder Enters the Scene
    Schroeder is a musical genious who always has his head in a piano playing classical music. The only time he is separated from his musical piano is when he is at the baseball games. The rest of his time is spent fending off Lucy who is always making unwanted advances.
    Did you know: Charles chose Beethoven as the music because it started with the letter "B" and he thought words like beagle, and brown, sounded funny.

    Known as crabby and bossy pants of the peanuts gang. Lucy can be found giving advice at her five cent psychiatrist’s booth, even though her advice is not very credible. She is also found yanking away Linus's blanket and humiliating Charlie Brown. Lucy's only weakness is her love for Schroeder the piano man.
    Did you know: Lucy speaks out for womens' rights and has high intentions of becoming president or queen.

    Linus is known for his blanket, and always having a kind word to say to everyone, even his bossy sister Lucy. He is many times the voice of the neighborhood even though he firmily believes in the great pumpkin. He suffers more than most people when people, or pumpkins, let him down.
    Did you know: Linus wore glasses for a short time. Snoopy constantly stole them to torture him.

He is a faithful companion to the flying ace and secretary to the head beagle. He is a fun root beer drinking partner in crime. He chirps in a language only snoopy can understand. He is never far from the dog house.
    Did you know: Woodstock made his first appearence in 1967 but was officially named in 1970 after a summer festival.

    Franklin is Charlie Brown's loyal friend who is quiet but confident. He never has an unkind word about Charlie. At school he sits in front of Peppermint patty which makes his school days much more worse. He is always hanging around Charlie Brown's house and always lends a hand to him whenever he needs it.
    Did you know: Franklin goes to school with Peppermint Patty and Marcie, but visits Charlie Brown in a nearby neighborhood.

    Marcie is smart and loyal friend to Peppermint Patty. She is definately the smart one in the duo. And even though she doesn't know the difference between hockey and baseball, she is terrific with friendship. She is very good friends with Charlie Brown "Charles." She also calls Peppermint Patty "sir."
    Did you know: Marcie's name first appeared in 1971, even though a girl who resembled her exactly went to the same camp as Peppermint Patty in 1968.

    The night before his final penuts cartoon was debuted he died in his sleep. At the time the Peanuts cartoons were being read by readers in twenty one languages in over 2,600 papers in seventy five countries. Schulz produced over 18,000 comic strips in his 50 years of work. He had many awards and now has a museum and reaserch center displaying his origional artwork, letters, photographs, and other memorabilia.
