This war ended in 1815 with the Treaty Of Ghent signed on December 24, 1814. This event is significant because during Charles Dickens birth in 1812, his home country was spending its time and money on war with the U.S.A in the war of 1812.

    Charles Dickens, full name Charles John Huffman Dickens, is born on February 7th, 1812. He was born in Portsea England, now part of Portsmouth England, to a lower-middle-class family to the parents Elizabeth and John Dickens. This was significant because Charles Dickens would then go on to become one of the most renowned authors of his era and of all time.

This is important because with multiple countries gaining their freedom, one of the largest empires, (Spanish), was beginning to diminish. This changed the course of history for parts of Europe.
