William Jefferson Clinton
William Jefferson Clinton (Bill Clinton) was born on this date with the proud mother Virginia Blythe. He was named after his father. His father died in a car accident three months before he was borm. -
JFK
While in high school Bill was a part of a group of boys called the American Legion Boys Nation. This was for boys that were interrested in government. In 1963 they took a trip to Washington D.C. that was where he had the apprevilage to shake hands with President John F. Kennedy. -
School
Bill went to the Hot Springs Highschool and graduated from there in 1964. -
Second College
Later that fall in 1968 Bill began at Oxford University in England as a Rhodes Scholar, he studied there for two years and then traveled around Europe before returning to the U.S. -
College
He went to Georgetown University in Washington D.C. There he studied political science and world issues. He also worked as an intern for Arkansas senator J. William Fulbright. He graduated in 1968. -
College Finale
In 1970 he attended Yale Law School in New Haven, Connecticut. While there he was a lawyer's assistant and taught a law class at the University of New Haven. He graduated in 1973. -
Hillary Diane Rodham
While at Yale he met his future wife. Hillary and Bill worked on Democratic senator George McGovern's 1972 presidential campaign. They married on October 11th 1975. -
Governor
Clinton became governor of Arkansas in 1979. -
Starting a Family
In 1980 they had their first and only child Chelsea Clinton. -
Democrat President
In 1992 the Democratic Party nominated Bill Clinton and his running mate Al Gore. He won the election against Bush. Bill took office in Janruary 20th 1993. -
Second Term
Clinton ran for President again in 1996. Winning the election he was President until 2001 ending his presidency. -
Impeachment
In December 1998 Clinton was impeached by the House of Representitives for two crimes, One said Clinton committed perjury (or lieing in court.) The other was that he had asked others to lie also, that is called obstruction of justice. -
Bill and Bush
Bush and Clinton went to two disaster areas to help and reconstruct the areas. On December 26, 2004 a tsunami hit Asian and African countries. Bill and Bush raised money to aid the people who were now homeless, without money, and needed medical care. Then in August 2005 Hurricane Katrina took place in the southeastern United States. Once again both these men raised money.
