Asking for Help

  • Math Quiz

We were learning a very difficult math subject leading up to the quiz, and I prepared for the quiz, checked my homework and I was mostly confident in myself. There were a few questions I was unsure of, but I ignored those.
  • Homework

“Finding a good balance between the two extremes of self-sufficiency and burnout is ideal, but it can be difficult for people who have become accustomed to a more self-sufficient lifestyle to begin asking for Help” (iBook 13). I am an independent person, and I usually like to do things myself. Especially in school I usually do things alonewithiut help to let myself figure it out.
  • Quiz

I felt pretty confident in my answers on the quiz except for a few, which usually was normal for me. I got the grade back a few days later, and I did not do good. I missed those I was unsure of and lots of other ones.“What are you Afraid of? Create an awareness around what keeps you from asking for help. Is it fear of rejection? Appearing vulnerable to others? Surrender of power” (iBook 14). I need to ask for help, but it is hard because I usually do not need to because I understand my work.
  • Asking for Help

Eventually I realized in order to improve my grade and make sure this doesn’t understand, I have to talk to my teacher to see what I can do better “Start to look at asking as a strength. It takes courage and the results to the "asker" are huge because not only do we get results, but we also get a connection with another human being” (iBook 14). My teacher saw that I was being proactive and was glad to help me . My teacher knows I want the best for myself and I care about my grades .
