Anson Jones becomes a physician
Ansons Jones graduates from Oneida, New York Medical Society. After graduation he becomes a physician and lives as a peaceful mild-mannered doctor. -
Lack of Success
In responce from his lack of success as a physician he gives up his life as a doctor and moves to New Orleans as a Merchant. -
Anson moves to Texas
Anson travels to Texas and becomes a successful physician. He serves as a surgeon in the Texas Revolution. -
Anson Jones is elected
Anson becomes the fourth and final president of Texas. -
Anson presents the alternative option of independence over annexation.
After a long silence, Anson displays his opinion of staying an independent nation. This angers many already angry people and they began to threaten him with lynching and overthrowing the government. -
Anson injures his left arm and can't use it anymore. His deppression begins.
He is in a horse riding accident which disables his left arm. He begins a downward spiral into a state of serious mental and physical sickness. He is haunted by his rejection by the people and develops a growing hatred for Sam Houston. He believes that someday he will be recognized for his achievements towards Texas's statehood. -
Death
Anson Jones kills himself by shooting himself in the head in Houston, TX at the Old Capital Hotel.
