My Parents: The Value and Support of a Family
From young age, my parents supported my Art Education.
Mom taught me to do what I like and to pursue a professional career.
Dad, taught me to work hard and to be passionate for books and magazines. Both taught me to enjoy and to learn from traveling. -
Guatemala: Middle School and High School
My dad got a job in Guatemala and we moved there before I started Middle School. Professor Carlos Arroyo was my MS art educator who taught me to be precise and clean in my artwork at a very young age. I always remember his classes and his passion for his job. -
Galería Ríos: First Summer Art Camp
This Summer Art Camp was my first art classes outside school. Those classes meant a lot to me, they changed my life and they were the beginning of a new path in my life. This is the original oil pastel artwork painted during that Summer Camp. -
Dissaster: Me vrs. Digital World
In 1989, I had my first computer class ever in High School. At the time, computers and I were not friends at all, It was very though to me to understand them. Our computer lab was very limited, maybe 1/5 students. Things definitely changed a few years later, and yes, now I can't live without my Mac. -
Roberto Rios: The Artist
Roberto is a well recognized artist in Guatemala. He taught me to draw and paint when I was 14 years old. His method has last for years and it is actually the base for my today's teaching program. This picture is from 1997. -

The College Years: Veritas University
I moved back to Costa Rica to get my BA in Graphic Design from Veritas University. During those years I got the opportunity to meet people who marked my life as art educator. Two of my favorites professors were, Fernando Ramirez de la Peña and Liudmilla Kikish. The first one taught me to have a positive attitud and love for my career and the second taught me to live with passion for art, teaching and society. -

Professional Years - Servigráficos
Moved to Guatemala for a few years gave me a good experience in graphic design,a few art workshops with important people in art and wider persperctives in latinamerican art.
My most important job was Servigráficos, a Costa Rican pre-production business in Guatemala. For me that was the main school in my design practice after college. I learned about business, clients, design, pre and post production. -
Wedding Day and First Year
A whole new chapter in my life. My husband has taught me to dream and to work for them. He helps me to keep focus and be strong.
Soon after our wedding day, my husband got a short term job in Cali, Colombia for a year. I couldn't work during that year but learned acrylic and folk painting from local artist. -
My First Mac
To get my first Mac, gave me the freedom to create from home and explored internet. I still keep my laptop as memory. -
The Big Apple
Living near New York City means museums, wide perspectives in creativity and living the life of a city. -
Life in New Jersey, USA
New Jersey has been home and the place that has giving me so many blessings for the last 12 years. I have travel trough out the country. I have growing up as human been, mother, wife and artist. -
My Daughter
My daughter was born and with her I became a mom. She has taught me to stop and play, just play. My motherhood experience had lead me enjoy and vaue childhood, therefore my art focus switched to next generations and this is an important point in my art education career. My kids taught me that :). -
My Son
When my son was born he taught me that there is the right time for everything in life. You can not control life, but you can enjoy it. -

Her books Kids Play and Point Zero give me the idea of creating my own art program. They were very inspiring. -
A Turning Point
My biggest disappointment as artist but the one that opens my eyes to focus in my children and my new path in life.
After looking for a sweetable Graphic Designer job for a mom for 2 years, I got one part time close to home, not bad...Unfortunatelly it didn't last to long. I lost my job within two weeks. I was devastated and I tough I would never be able to lift my professional career again. -
Paragon Village
Giving back to my community by volunteering at Paragon Villange Nursery Home. I have been teaching art to elder for the past years and here I have learn that I can make a difference in somebody life through art.

The New Teacher in Town

Started my Online MA Art Education adventure with the University of Florida, the one that has taught me:
"Art is all inside of me and I'm free to create; I can choose. I can make mistakes and I can just have fun, because my art and my philosophy in life is the best thing I can leave to my family and atudents".
