12 0f the 13 colonies sent delegates to Philidelphia to discuss the grievances against Britain. I chose this event b/c it was the first step to making a legislative body in the united states. -

The war kicked off with the skirmishes between the British and American Minutemen at Concord and Lexington. I chose this event b/c it stared one of the most important wars in the United States history. -

The Second Constitutional Congress is held to Draft the Declaration of Independence. Delegates from all the colonies attended the congress. I chose this event b/c the Declaration of Independence was drafted and it is one of the most important documents in our nation's history. -

The list of grievances against Britain and a declaration of independence was sent to King George the third. I chose this event because it set the foundation for the American republic. -

Thomas Jefferson and the United States bought the Louisiana Purchase from Napoleon. I chose this event b/c it doubled the size of the united states. -

War begins when a number of states succeed from the union b/c of slavery. I chose this event because it is one of the most important and bloody wars fought in American history. -

A decisive and needed victory for the union. Basically started the beginning of the end of the war for the confederates. -
Civil War Ends; Lincoln Assassinated
The end of the civil war was bittersweet for the nation b/c a generation of young men were lost and Lincoln was assassinated. I chose this event b/c it started the process of reconstruction. -
The First Transcontinental Railroad Completed
Americans were able to travel from one side of the country to the other side in a matter of months compared to years. I chose this event b/c it allowed the American economy to grow.
