    1862 Mechanical Submarine (The USS Alligator) Part One
    Made and designed by the French Inventor Brutus De Villeroi, he was hired by the Union Government the American Civil War. The early sub was 47 feet long and made to fit 18 people. The submarine was developed to counter the Confederate Ironclads which were ships made or covered in iron armor. The sub's construction was supposed to take no more than 30 days and cost around $14,000. Because of the Civil War, the Union was making a lot of money, and so were the confederates,

    Because of all the money going around and technology was on a rise, it was much easier to build this one of a kind submarine than most would think. The very first submarines can be found all the w back to the sixteen-hounded. This was the first more modern one out of all of the previous ones, and it helped create the submarines that we now have today.

    George Eastman was born on July 12, 1854 in Waterville New York. In his early life he was dedicated to making his Kodak Box. Thankfully, he started his own business called the "Eastman Dry Plate and FIlm Company," which undoubtedly funded his work majorly. When h was 24 he decided to go on a trip to Santo Domingo. Taking someone's advise, he decided to document the trip. But unfortunately his equipment as too large and heavy and costly. Because of this, he didn't go on the trip.

    Continuing from before, George started researching on how to make photography less complex. After he saw a formula for dry plate, he began figuring out a way to make a "gelatin-based paper film and a device for coating dry plates." He quit his job in April of 1880 and started his own company. He went to a patent office with the new rollholder that he and camera inventor William Hall Walker had developed. Doing this made cameras smaller and cheaper. He came up with the name Kodak.

    He came up with the name Kodak because he believed a device should have its own name. So in 1888 he made his first Kodak Camera. Something Interesting about the Kodak Camera is that it can hold only 100 rolls of film. In 1889 he hired chemist to make a new type of flexible film that was easier to pt into a camera. Thomas Edison used the film to be used in the Motion Picture camera, amping the company's success. By 1927 was the largest company in the U.S. Sadly he committed suicide in 1932.
