A Timeline of my Life (Edith K.)

  • My Parents

    My Parents
My loving parents are the most significant in my life because without them, I wouldn't be here or even alive. They loved me more than I could ever ask, and they raised me up to be the person that I am today. They were the ones who taught me my manners, and everyday skills I would need in my life in the near future. Without them, I can't imagine how I would live. They were the ones there for me when no one else was.
  • Being Born

    Being Born
The second and most significant part of my life is being born. This is when my life started and when the memories of my childhood began. I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, by my two lovely parents, as well as my grandmother. As a baby, I was always very happy and I rarely cried.
  • Influence of my Cousin

    Influence of my Cousin
My cousin, Stephen (the boy who is holding me in the photo), is one of the most supportive cousin that I have. He has been there for me since I was born. Although I am an only child, he was there for me like an older brother that I never had. He is significant in my life because he helped raise me into society and how I, as a person, should behave.
  • My Grandmother

    My Grandmother
When I was a child, my parents were always busy with work, so my Grandmother took care of me, and therefore she was my "babysitter". I think my grandmother is significant in my life because she raised me like her own daughter, and taught me important skills as a child, such as eating food, holding objects, as well as taking a bath.
  • First Trip

    First Trip
This was my first trip out of Canada and I think it is significant in my life because I got to experience something new, and it awakened my senses of knowing that there is more to my world than just Canada. I traveled to New York with my mother as a family trip. My father had work, so unfortunately, he did not come with us.
  • Broken Arm

    Broken Arm
I thought that this was a significant time in my life, since it was the first time I had broken a bone. When I was three years old, I broke my arm two days before my birthday. Breaking my arm taught me that I shouldn't jump down a flight of stairs. I also thought that it was a funny moment in my life because of how ironic the timing was, since I broke my arm a few days before my birthday.
  • First Day at School

    First Day at School
The very first public school that I attended was in Scarborough, at Meadowvale Public School. I had just started junior kindergarten. This is very significant in my life because it is the starting of my education years, which helps elevate on to grade one all the way to high school. This also helped me build my social and communication skills, as well as improve on my english.
  • Graduating Senior Kindergarten

    Graduating Senior Kindergarten
Graduating senior kindergarden was significant in my life because it proved that I was excalating in education, and I was able to pass kindergarden and move on to high levels of education. This was also significant because after I graduated senior kindergarden, I moved to another school in Scarborough, Ontario, which allowed me to create more friends and develop my communication skills.
  • My First and Favourite Book

    My First and Favourite Book
The first book that I read is when I was still in grade one. It was called "Where the Wild things Are" by Maurice Sendak. This made me realize how much I loved literature and reading. It also helped develop my literacy skills as a child, which is important because it is the stepping stone to learning more complex words.
  • Going to the Toronto Zoo

    Going to the Toronto Zoo
Going to the Toronto Zoo was my first field trip in elementary school. It made me realize how much I loved animals. Also, as you can see in the picture, it was my first friend that I made after I moved to Scarborough to attend another school.
  • My Significant Friend

    My Significant Friend
In grade five, I met Julie Tran, which I think is a very significant event in my life because to me, she is like a sister that I never had. Without her, I wouldn't be the same person that I am today because I wouldn't be able to find another person who I would be able to talk to when I was feeling down. She is always there for me when I need her most, and she always supports whatever I do, even if it isn't the smartest idea. Since then, we have been friends for six years.
  • Developing my Career

    Developing my Career
In 2007, I began watching more crime scene investigation shows, and I decided that I wanted to enforce in that field of career. I became more interested on how forensic scientists or taxologists work on an every day basis, as well as how to solve mysteries of the injured or dead. Since then, I began studying hard in science to build up for my career in the future.
  • Graduating Elementary School

    Graduating Elementary School
This is another significant event in my life because I moved a step ahead in my education path by graduating elementary school. This proves that I am capable of learning in high school. Graduation was also a day full of memories and feelings of happiness, sadness, as well as relief. By graduating, it ensures that I have successfully completed my 10 years of elementary school (from kindergarten to grade eight).
  • Going to High School

    Going to High School
Going to high school was another significant event in my life because I am maturing and developing the skills that I need for my career as well as becoming an independant adult. Also, high school has helped me develop stronger social skills, as well as making friends that I can keep for the long-run. High school also made me realize how things in my life have changed greatly from when I was a child.
  • My Passion for Baking

    My Passion for Baking
This is significant in my life because I learned how to bake for the first time on my own, and my cupcakes turned on perfect on my very first attempt at baking. This helped develop my passion and love for baking. Also, it helped me develop more friendships as well as how much I care for others because I enjoy baking for my family and friends, and seeing the smiles on their faces from my cupcakes.
  • Getting my Professional Camera

    Getting my Professional Camera
Getting my DSLR camera is significant in my life because it also helped me develop another passion that I enjoy in my life. My camera speaks for me without using words. Taking photos have made me realize how beautiful nature can be.
