    Scrooge is cold and hard-hearted, from his head to his toes, inside and out.
    "a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner!(...) The cold within him froze his old features, nipped his pointed nose, shriveled his cheek, stiffened his gait; made his eyes red, his thin lips blue and spoke out shrewdly in his grating voice. A frosty rime was on his head, and on his eyebrows, and on his wiry chin" (Dickens 12).

    Scrooge's family is having a party and they start to play a guessing game in which Fred chooses to describe Scrooge.

    Marley Visits Scrooge
    Scrooge is hearing and seeing things that he couldn't find the source of, but soon he found out that it was Old Marley's ghost.
    "His color changed though, when, without a pause, it came on through the heavy door, and passed into the room before his eyes. Upon its coming in, the dying flame leaped up, as though it cried, "I know him! Marley's Ghost?" and fell again" (Dickens 21).

    Sends Turkey to the Crachit's
    Scrooge finally changes and he buys the biggest turkey and sends it anonymously, to the Cratchit's.
    '"I'll send it to Bon Cratchit's!' whispered Scrooge, rubbing his hands, and splitting with a laugh. 'He shan't know who sends it. It's twice the size of Tiny Tim'" (Dickens 77).

    When Scrooge goes to church you can tell that he has completely changed, as he speaks to everyone on the street and is kind.
    "He went to church, and walked about the streets, and watched the people hurrying to and fro, and patted children on the head, and questioned beggars, and looked down into the kitchens of houses, and up to the windows, and found that everything could yield him pleasure" (Dickens 78)

    In this scene, Scrooge raises Bob Cratchit's salary and lets him use coal in the fireplace.

    The Spirit of Christmas Future takes Scrooge to see his own grave and Scrooge realizes he has to change.
