The expansion of the stock market and production of goods at too great of a rate, until production declined and unemployment rates went up. Stocks lost value and billions of dollars were lost because of excessive trading. This is important because it threw the U.S into the great depression and almost 30 percent of the country was unemployed. This even hurt other countries by accelerating a global economic depression. Almost 50 percent of banks went out of business. -

The plane ride by Amelia Earhart across the Atlantic ocean on her own from Newfoundland to Ireland. This is historically important because not only was it the second time a plane flew solo over Atlantic, but it was done by a woman. Expanding ideas of what women could do and be a part of in a time where there roles and opportunities in life were small. -

A secret police force in support of Nazi party in World War 2 era. Under the command of Heinrich Himmler for most of there existence. They hunted down anyone considered to be a threat to Nazi party and were there own judge and jury and did not fall in the lines of the law. They are important because they were the main force capturing Jews. These Jews would end up in concentration camps and millions would die before they were finally released after the war. -

Hitler's purge through the use of the Gestapo to wipe out opposition to him. He killed mainly SA members because he feared their radicalism. A designated amount of income which is distinguished to be fair so people could not be overworked and underpaid, which was initially 25 cents. This was part of Fair Labor Standards Act. This
is important because before this, people were underpaid for the hard work they put into their job. The making of a minimum wage insured that people would be paid fairly for the type of work they are doing. This allowed for an increased living standard since people were making more money. -
Germany and Italy become allies
Known as the Pact of Steel, this publicly made Germany and Italy allies. This is important because they pledged support for each other in war effort. They would both prepare their countries for war and create war propaganda. Ultimately bringing the countries a step closer to WW2 and Japan also joining the alliance, in the future. -
