    Declaration of Independence Signed
    The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776 by John Hancock and other 54 delegates.The Declaration of Independence was an act of the Second Continental Congress. Thomas Jefferson wrote the document and it was presented to Congress on June 28, 1776. This event is significant because the Declaration of Independence declares our independence from Britain. If we had not declared independence we would still be part of Britain.

    Civil War
    In the 1860's there was too much tension between the Northern and Southern regions. The North wanted to abolish slavery once President Lincoln was elected and the South didn't agree because the farmers needed slaves to work and gain them money. The South decided they did not wanted to be part of the United States and wanted to form a new country. Lincoln disagreed and that's when war began. This is significant because Abraham Lincoln made the Emancipation Proclamation and slavery ended.

    On April 15th, 1865 Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth while watching a play at Fords theater in Washington D.C. This is Important because he was a very important to he was the president and in that time US was at war and also because the lost a great leader, he was an important lead figure in abolishing slavery.

    World War I began in 1914, after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and lasted until 1918. Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire the Central Powers fought against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan and the United States the Allied Powers. By the time the war was over and the Allied Powers claimed victory. more than 16 million people died. This is significant because it was the first world war

    The Great Depression was was a worldwide economical crash. It was the worst and longest period of unemployment and low business activity in the 1900's.This is significant because in that time everyone struggled to get supplies an money and also because President Roosevelt helped America to get out of this depression.

    One of the most important events that led to the WWII was the Holocaust. Germany had a dictator named Adolf Hitler and he wanted to end the Jews. He wanted to take control of Europe so he ended peace with the Soviet Union by not following the Treaty of Versailles. Germany had too much power that the Britain wanted to do something about. After all in the Battle of Britain, Germany was defeated. This event is significant because it led to one of the most fatal war.

    The Pearl Harbor Attack was a surprise attack that the Japanese made against the United States. The Japanese wanted to end their economic problems and wanted to expand their territories so they could be able to take over the U.S trade market. The only solution Japan had was to plan an attack against the U.S military . This event was significant because it let to one of the biggest chaos in America which was World War II.

    The Cold War was a state of tension after World War II between powers in the Soviet Union and the US and its allies. Tensions between United States and the Soviet Union lasted for much of the second half of the 20th century resulted in mutual suspicions, heightened tensions that brought the world’s superpowers to the brink of disaster. The significance of it was that the United States emerged as the sole superpower in the world and ideology wise, capitalism trumped communism.
  • Moon Landing

    Moon Landing
    On July 20 Neil Armstrong landed on the moon. Other astronauts were with him as well such as, Michael Collins and Edwin Aldrin. The mission of Apollo 11 was accomplished because these astronauts went to the moon and went safely back to Earth. This event was significant because it was the first time someone went to the moon and it was a big deal for Americans.

    On September 11,2001 two planes were crashed into the twin towers in New York City and a third plane hit the Pentagon of Washington D.C and a four plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.This is important because since then everyone life changed in one way or another because security increased and everything is now different.
