  • Boston Massacre

    What Happened?
    The Boston Massacre was a fight between colonists and the red coats (British soldiers). The Bristish soldiers were being harrassed and were scared for their lives. Five colonist were shot and killed. This later went on to create more angry towards the britians.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence was written to King George demanding to the right to govern the people their own way. It was about breaking free from Great Britain and being a new body. The Declaration of Independence was signed by the people the pledge to govern fairly and make the lives of people better. The people wanted to break free from Great Britain so they wrote them a letter.

    The Trail of Tears was an event where all the Indians in America were moved from their territory to present day Oklahoma. The Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and the Seminole were the tribes that were part of the Indian Removal Act. Some of the tribes tried to fight, but the ones that did, died. The Indians were removed by President Andrew Jackson. This information was foiund in the American history book.

    The Donner party left Illinois in April and headed for the Seira Nevada Mountains. The Donners' experience a severe snow storm that damage their souls and their food. The people were starving and they ate eat other to survive They marked all the children so when they didn't eat their own child. Many children were killed from the cold and lack of food. The people that really struck it rich were the shop keepers and landlords that collected money. The people found gold in the waters of California and they traded it for money.     Uncle Tom’s Cabin was a book about a life of a slave. Uncle Tom was a slave about to be sold away into another place by his owner. One of the slave one the farm ran away with her son so the little boy would not be sold. Uncle Tom’s Cabin appealed to many white mother and parents. The book inspired many and opened the eyes of others. This is what made more people join the abolitionist movement.

    Bleeding Kansas was a series of political attacks on the Kansas border about slavery. It is where pro- slavery and anti- slavery people protested about slavery. This lead to multiple attacks on both sides. It is important because these people both had a point of view and they both willing to fight for what they believed.

    Harper’s Ferry was the assault led by John Brown. He attack the Southern military base in order to get guns and weapons to fight for the slaves. He was hoping that not only would the slave join his fight, but more people would protest against slaver. The attack failed and he was charged with terrorism. After that, he was sentenced to death. This is important because this was the first real act against slavery before the Civil War.

    It was attacked by the confederate troops which began the Civil War. It was located in Charleston and they surrender to confederate troops. It was located in the center of everything so it could control the harbor. Then the confederate troops opened fire and started a battle. This was the beginning of the Civil War.

The stock market had crashed and multiple people were trying to get their money from the bank. Over the next couple of years the people were losing money that they had because of the crash. This taught us what happens when the stocks crash and how the world falls when the stocks do.

    It was a period of several dust storms that went over the western part of the USA. It damaged the ecology and the agriculture in the USA and Canada. It was a period of time that made our nation at its worst, but we overcame it.

    It was about segregation and how blacks and whites should go to school together. “Brown” was a 7 year old black girl and her father wanted her to go to a school closer to home verses far away. The supreme court made the decision to start desegregate the schools. This helped all “browns” start to infuse with the “whites”.

Written for groups of all ages, the Peanuts comic is a one of a kind piece of history. Even though it has discontinued, they are still showing repeats. This is small piece of cultural history that makes people, like us, enjoy the simple things in life.

    Apollo 11 was the first spacecraft to land on the moon, only two people were aboard. Neil Armstrong was the first man to step foot on the moon and is famous for his words on the moon. They made a giant mark on history and the space race.

    This was a huge mark on the space race and the USA.

    On August 16, 1977 was the day that Elvis passed on to a new life. August 16, 1977 was the day that Elvis passed on to a new life. He was found unresponsive in his bathroom. He was dead and everyone will miss him because ‘king of rock and roll’.

    He was known as the ‘king of rock and roll’ and he was a legend and a pop artists.

    The rocket blasted apart after a little under 3 minutes after takeoff. The rocket blasted apart after a little under 3 minutes after takeoff. The rocket froze earlier and they had to delay the blast-off. This lead to a major death.
    Why important?
    This a major downfall in the space program. Safety requirements were relooked at and make better for the safety of the people onboard.
  • Alan Shepard's Death

    What happened?
    He died on July 21, 1998, in Pebble Beach, California. He was an astronaut for NASA and made a big mark for Apollo 14. He passed away from leukemia. This was very sad moment in history.
    Why important?
    He was a well-known astronaut that overcame his difficulties.

    Terrorist hit the twin towers or the World Trade Center along with the Pentagon. Over 2,500 people were killed in the planes and in the buildings. This lead to a war on Iraq. Which is still going on today.
    Why was it important?
    We learned that people in this world have to be on guard and that we are stronger than we thought before.
