Compromise of 1850
The Compromise of 1850 admitted California as a free state and allowed New Mexico & Utah to decide if they want to be free states. No slaves were allowed in Washington D.C. and finally, The Fugitive Slave Act was enforced. The Fugitive Slave Act required citizens to apprehend runaway slaves -
