Nearly all of him votes can from the North and the West. He only won 2 of the 996 counties in the Southern States. 10 of the 15 Southern States didn't even vote for him. -

Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
This was when Abraham Lincoln was shot in the head by John Wilks Booth. The significance of this is that he was the first president to be assassinated. This was right after Lee surrendered to Grant.
