    The first colonists came from Spain, France, and the Netherlands. They landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Some got along with the Indians, but most did not. This was important in U.S. history because with out the colonies, there wouldn't be a United States.

    Thomas Jefferson was the main writer of the Decleration of Independence. This declared that America was free from Britan. This was important to the United States becase this made America it's own country. This was a big thing because The 13 Colonies didn't want to be part of Britan, ad now they were their own country.

    George Washington was the first president elected into office. This was a big day because to a lot of Americans, and for England too, this really proved that America was it's own country. It had it's own president, and wasn't under Britan's control anymore.

    The United States began a war over civil rights. The problem was that if all people were created equal, then why were black people were slaves. This divided our country. It was important to our country because it divided our country. It put brother against brother, and a lot of lives were taken. It really took a toll on our country.

    Terrorists took over 4 airplanes flying into the United States. 2 of the planes were flewn into the Twin Towers. 1 plane was flewn into the Pentagon. The other plane was heading to Washington D.C., but the passengers took over, and the plane crashed in a field. This was the first main terrorist attack against the United States. This made out country really think, and we learned that even though we are a powerful country, we are not invinsible.
