Columbus Expedition
I think Columbus' Expedition is an important event in our history because he discovered this country. If he didn't go exploring it may have been a long time before we even knew America existed. We may have not ever known about it. We may have not known about that half of the world. -
American Revolution
I think the American Revolution is important because we had finally rebelled against the British. We wanted to be independent. The British had a lot more people than the Americans but we still won. That war is what helped us become America. -
Signing of the Declaration of Independence
I think the signing of the Declaration of Independence is an important event in American History because it is what made us an independent country. The Declaration granted our freedom from Great Britain. If we hadn't signed that we may still be a part of Britain today. -
Signing of the Constitution
The Constitution is important because it states the laws of our country. It states the freedoms we have. The Constitution also established a form of government. -
Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was important to American history because it first introduced technology. Technology made it easier to get jobs done. With technology the need for manual labor decreased. -
Lewis and Clark Expedition
I think the Lewis and Clark Expedition is important because they discovered the northwest and all the resources over there. No one else had gone there before. If they hadn't gone on that trip we might have never known of everything that was over there or all the resources. -
Women's Rights Movement
I think the Women's Rights Movement is very important in America's history. Women never had the rights that men had, their rights were not equal. Women were not aloud to vote until this movement gave them the right to. -
Civil War
I think the Civil War was an important event. It helped slavery be abolished. The war helped end the issue between the North and the South. -
The Great Depression
During the Great Depression the economy in America was very bad. It had a big impact on people but because of it FDR's New Deal and the beginning of welfare came about. There were many programs to help people and to get them jobs. -
Civil Rights Movement
The Civil Rights Movement was important in American history. Even after slavery was abolished African Americans were not treated fairly. The Civil Rights Movement helped them gain equal rights. When Rosa Parks refused to move on the bus that kind of started the Civil Rights Movement.
