Cry of Dolores
Miguel Hildalgo delivered a speech called Cry of Dolores. He called for the Mexicans overthrow the Spanish and become independant. The much smaller but well armed army, guided by the Spanish, defeated the bigger but not well armed army guided by Miguel Hidalgo. -
Death of Jose Morelos
He took trhe place of Hildalgo. He had also won many battle against the Spanish but in the end the spansh captured Morelos and killed him on December 22 of 1815. -
The Plan of Iguala
1821 iwhen The Plan of Iguala was made/created.Iturbide made 3 promises they were Iturbide is emperor, Catholic is the official religion, and equal rights to all americans. The Plan of Iguala was written by Agustin de Iturbide. -
Agustin de Iturbide
Iturbide helped defeat Hildalgo and Morelos. In 1821 Iturbide switched sides and bertayed the Spanish because he wanted to become emperor. In 1822-1823 he was emperor. He is credited to be the forst designer of the Mexican flag. -
Mexican American War
The Mexicans were led by Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna when they defeated the Americans at the Alamo. Later defeated by Sam Houston and signed over Texas to the Americans to avoid death. In February 2, 1848 and the Americans fored them to give up half of thier land. -
War of the Reform
did not know the entire date just could only find the year. Benito Juarez wrote laws to reduce thier power and to legalize freedom of religion. The church disliked at so they ended up going into a civil war. -
The French Invasion
could not find entire date. The group who lost the war of the reform looked to France to help them. France captured Mexico city in 1863. -
Maximillin Dies
not able o find entire date. When the French had to leave back to Europe to fight the war that broke out in Europe. Juarez's army captures the ruler at the time, Maxmillin, they captured him and killed him. -
Benito Juarez dies
Benito siezed control of Mexico and wrote laws make the government work for the people in 1855. -
Order and Progress
no exact date found. Porfirio Diaz seized powerin Mexico in 1876.He cared little for the rights of the people. All the money came from and went to foreign investors the people profited little. Foreign investors owned half of the wealth in Mexico and a third of the land.
