The Journey of My Life

  • The Day I was Born

    The Day I was Born
I was born in the Putnam Hospital birthing center on an early Tuesday winter morning at 10:42 am. I weighed 8lbs and 3oz and would not stop crying. I was born with dark brown eyes, which progressively became lighter as I grew older. I had little to no hair on my head. On this exact day, gas was $1.33/gallon, and a loaf of bread costed $0.99.
  • First Time at Disney World

    First Time at Disney World
When I was 4, my family& I traveled down to Orlando, Florida to visit Disney World. I took my very 1st plane ride out of Laguardia airport. When we arrived we stayed at the Pop Century Hotel & rented Pt Convertible Cruiser. At the time, I was obsessed with the Disney princesses, so I met many, including Bella, Cinderella, and Jasmine. But there was 1 character in particular I was terrified of,and no one knew why, that was The Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. https://youtu.be/YMvLqcb4-UU
  • Adopting My Brother

    Adopting My Brother
Being an only child for 7 years had its perks, but it was definitely a big shift for me to suddenly have a baby brother after those 7 years of my life. My parents had always wanted me to have a sibling, but weren't able to. The first night we brought Ronald home, he cried non-stop.
  • My First "Job"

    My First "Job"
I started out as a waitress/hostess in a Japanese restaurant called Sapporo, located on Route 22 in Brewster NY. I mainly took orders, served the food/drinks and I cleaned up after the customer left. Since there were very minimum workers there besides the two owners, so I played the role of multiple jobs. It was extremely difficult for me to remember off-hand what was in certain dishes when customers asked about them, especially since it was a non-american restaurant.
  • Quitting My First "Job"

    Quitting My First "Job"
Many of the customers I encountered as a waitress were very understanding & patient with my service. But 1 night, a man & his daughter & son walked in & sat down to eat dinner. My boss had told me that they were regulars. When they all finished their meals, I take 1 of their plates full of food to the back to package to go. Without thinking, I bring back the empty box & the full plate. The man then raises his voice at me, asking why I hadn't packaged the food. I was so upset, I quit that night.
  • Joining my first varsity sports team

Joining my first varsity sports team
I had done gymnastics since I was about 5 years old and I had always loved it because I made friends and learned new skills. I was never the best, but I didn't let that get me down. I stopped gymnastics for about 2 years and lost a lot of the skills I had learned. Well, when I joined the Varsity Gymnastics team in Brewster, I regret those many years I lost in skill. Compared to many of the girls on the team, my skills were mediocre, but I tried my hardest not to let the team down.
  • My first gymnastics competition

    My first gymnastics competition
I learned Beam routines, since that was the only event I felt confident in preforming. My friend Sarah & I were the amateurs for competition. I participated at the very last competition we had for the year & I believe that I did well for my first time. I scored a 3.30 out of 10, which wasn't great but it was good for a first timer. I don't think I have ever been more nervous about anything in my life than that one minute long performance. I loved every second of it. https://youtu.be/jX-RDvnTMv4
  • My First "Real" Job

    My First "Real" Job
I applied to Wendy's in Carmel, and thankfully I was hired within a week of me handing in my application. I have been working there for almost 6 months now & it has opened my eyes to many different types of people that live this world. I have made many new friends there & I consider Wendy's my so-called "second home". I have become very close with many of my coworkers, they see me through my best/worst days. I enjoy working because when I work I forget about all the things I stress over.
  • Getting My License

    Getting My License
I failed the first time I took my road test by at least 20 points, which was bad, I just passed my 2nd road test & I also almost didn't pass my permit test because I had gotten 6 questions wrong, and 6 was the maximum amount of questions you could get wrong. Not that I never drove before, or that I didn't study properly for the test, I was just horrible under pressure. I took my road test twice in Yorktown and the second time I was almost positive that I was going to fail, but I passed.
  • Getting my first car

    Getting my first car
This event was a big deal to me because this not only meant that I had just been granted my freedom, but I had also been gifted an enormous responsibility. This means that I am responsible for not crashing the car, being home before curfew, getting myself to school on time, gas money and the overall maintenance of the car.
