The great life of Sarah Sparks

  • The day I was born.

    The day I was born.
I was born on Easter Sunday in Northern Kentucky. Being born was important because with out being born I wouldn't be here today. Also I wouldn't have been able to experience everything I have.
  • The day I gave my heart to Jesus.

The day I gave my heart to Jesus.
When I was seven years old I gave my heart to Jesus. Ever since that day my life has been completely different. It is the only thing that has gotten me through life.
  • The day my Grandma died.

    The day my Grandma died.
The day my Grandma died was a big life event because she was every important person and role model in my life. She was like my every first best friend in a way. She taught me lots of things and I spent most of my time with her so when she passed it was hard to deal with. I also called my grandma Mom unlike most kids who call Grandma something different and their moms, Mom.
  • The day I started middle school.

The day I started middle school.
The day I started middle school was an important day. It was when I first knew that I was be coming a teenager with more responsibilities and less like a kid. Middle school taught me that not everything is good in the world.
  • The day I started marching band.

The day I started marching band.
The I was in the 8th grade when my band director asked me if I would like to be in marching band. Both of my parents were in marching band so when this opportunity came up my parents were excited and so was I. Marching band was a big thing for me because I got so many new friends and when I joined high school the next year I already had a ton of friends there.
  • The day my marching band won first place.

The day my marching band won first place.
The first time my marching band won first place was a big deal. The feeling you get when you've heard your name come in first place is incredible. All the hard work, hot long hours spent outside practicing almost everyday, doing homework into the middle of the night, and NEVER having any free time is always worth it in the end. Even if we didn't win it was still all worth it to be with a second family like the friends you make in band.
  • The day I found out I was allergic to the cold.

The day I found out I was allergic to the cold.
When I found out I was allergic to the cold, that was day my life changed forever. For about three years I had been missing a lot of school and I was having lots of reactions. For three years no one could figure out what was wrong with me and why I was swelling and was pretty much nonfunctional for weeks at a time. I was tested for everything under the sun, and finally I was diagnosed with Cold Urticaria Angiodemia. They did an ice cube test to prove it and my arm swelled huge I knew it was true
  • Moving across the country.

    Moving across the country.
Due to my allergy to the cold and how sever it was the doctor told me I had three choices, One to take drugs that would probably eventually hurt me badly when I was older, two was to move to a warmer climate,or three would be to stay in Kentucky and my body would have eventually kill its self in about three years. So my Family packed everything up and we moved to Arizona. It was hard and sad but I'm forever grateful that I had the option of moving.
  • A new school.

    A new school.
When I got to Arizona I had to start all over, I had to make new friends, I was a sophomore, and I had to start in a new marching band. I was really scared about having something so new. when I came from a small town where I had been going to school with the same people my whole life and where everyone knew my name. Here it was very different but after about a week a had a whole marching band as friends and I was having the time of my life before I even knew it.
  • Joining color guard.

    Joining color guard.
I started winter guard in 2013. It was a big shock to everyone because my whole life I had sworn to everyone I would never become a color guard girl. Although I did and I love it and it is so much fun. Color guard teaches me new skills helps me become a better performer, and challenges me to learn new things all the time. I simply love it and still do it to this day.
