The olive branch petition was the last attempt at peace to prevent war it was signed by the Virginia delegates. This is important because the petition talked about their rights as British citizens. -

Representatives from Britain and the U.S. signed the treaty officially ending the American Revolution. This event is important because the war was finally over and the U.S. won.
