    Crusades
    The crusades started in the 1100's. It was a religious war between catholic christians and muslims. They were fighting over the holy land called Jeruslem. The Europeans didn't accomplish much, but was introduced to many things. This was important because Europeans were introduced to new things and it also brought an end to the Middle Ages

    Black Death
    The Black Death also known as the plague was a disease that wiped out 1/3 of a population in Europe. The disease was contracted from flea's that were on black rats. This event is important because it brought the middle ages to an end.

    Dias Voyage
    Bartolomeu Dias was a student that went to Prince Henry. He led an expedition to India, but was only at the tip of South Africa. This was important because he was trying to find a way to Asia just like Columbus.

    Columbus Voyage
    Columbus was an Italian explorer. He had many beliefs like the one of traveling west to reach the east. He had plenty of ideas it was just hard having supporters of them. He was on a journey to find route from Europe to Asia, but it never happned. However he did come across the "New Land" although he wasn't the first to discover it. This is important because the land he came across was then owned by England for more authority and land.

    Vasco da Gama Voyage
    Gama was a Portuguese explorer who completed what Dias didn't. He did that by rounding the tip of South Africa. This is important because he was the 1st European to reach India by boat.

    Ponce de Leon explores Florida
    Ponce de Leon was a spanish explorer who explored Florida. Florida got it's name because of the lush of floral vegetation. This is important because he was the 1st conquistador to explore the South and Central Florida.

    Posting of 95 Theses

    Posting of 95 Theses
    On October 31st , 1517 the 95 theses were posted by a monk named Martin Luther. The 95 theses stated all the things that were done wrong in the church. These theses marked the beginning of the protestant. This event is important because the theses informed the people about what the popes were doing wrong in the church.

    Martin is Excommunicated

    Martin is Excommunicated
    In 1521 Martin Luther was excommunicated or cut off from the Catholic Church. The reason why is because he didn't want to take back his 95 theses like the pope wanted him to. He then began his own church known as Lutheranism. This is important because after being cut off their were many other people who followed after him and his beliefs.

    Cortes defeat of Aztecs
    Hernan Cortez was a man that went to Mexico in search for gold. When he went there Moctezuma believed Cortez was Quetzalzoatl, so when he asked for gold Moctezuma was quick to get it for him. This is important because Cortez destroyed the Aztec empire killing many of them.

    King Hnery VIII's est. Anglican Church
    In the year of 1532 the Angelican Church was established. This church was formed by King Henry. It was established for the king to get a divorce from his wife and for many other people as well. The pope who was was in control of the churches wouldn't let him, so Henry removed England from Catholic Churches. The importance is that King Henry has control over both the church and country.
  • Kings Philips War

    Kings Philips War
    This war was led by Metacom. Metacom was a leader of Wamponoags. In 1662 a native named Alex was Metacom brother who was taken in for questioning. Then 3 were tried by colonist which vexed the natives. Many natives were dying and they efforts in fighting were getting bad. After war, fur trade declined because natives didn't help colonists anymore. This is important because it cost colonists and the natives were declining.
  • Treaty of Paris

    When the Treaty of Paris came the fighting stopped. Most of the colonies except for natives that were in war recieved something valuable. Especially England they had became the most powerful country. This is important because the treaty ended the French and Indian war
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Parliament placed a tax on printed materials like paper and stuff. This was the first direct tax on colonist. The colonists could only buy paper from Britian that had a stamp in which colonist did not like. This is important because it was the first tax placed on colonists.
  • Quatering Act

    Quatering Act
    The Quatering Act was required to give british soldiers a place to live. Also to provide them with food. Soldiers could go into anybody house unexpected, and expect to be fed by a silver spoon. This event was important because in the end the people got their freedom without British coming to live off of them
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    This is a tax on colonist that required the colonists to only buy British East Company Tea. The Sons of Liberty didn't like that so they dumped the tea in the Boston Harbor. It was important because people took action to the King putting tax on tea. However they had to make up for it.
  • 1st Continental Congress

    1st Continental Congress
    55 delagates from the 12 colonies were chosen to have a meetng in Philladelphia. In the meeting The Declaration of Rights and Grievances were written. Which had declared their loyalty to the king and condemned the Coercive Acts. This is important because this was the 1sr congress meeting where they met up about beng under the control of England.
  • Winter 1777-1778

    Winter 1777-1778
    This winter lasted for 3 months. In the winter Washington and his troops didn't have enough supplies, shoes, and not enough uniforms. Many of the soldiers got sick from diseases and frostbites just from being barefoot and unclothed. Then many patriots had left. Besides that they did get help from training to improve in war. This is important because it tells what Washington and his troops had to face fighting for freedom.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    The Battle of Yorktown was the very last war before it officialy ended. This battle was between both British and the United States. A British General wanted to know more about Washington and he got that information from the poor patriot Benedict Arnold. The British Gen marched North to Virginia to rally British troops and get more land, but they were surrounded by Washington and his allies.This is important because it's the last battle & war ended with British surrendering & signing the Treaty.

    The Treaty of Paris was signed September 3, 1783. When this treaty was signed war was officially over. After being signed it was giving the United States there independence. This is important because the American Revolution was finally over and the U.S was a independent country.
  • Underground Railroad

    This place was not an actual railroad, nor was it underground. The Underground Railroad was a network of people and places that had helped slaves escape. Slaves in the south was harder to escape than the slaves in the north. There were so many dangers that involved escaping. This is imports]ant because slaves escaped with the help of many people who were against slavery.
  • Louisana Purchase

    Louisana was a purchased from the French in 1803. The U.S purchased this land because people needed more room to plant crops also raising livestock. This purchase was a large seaport fed from the Mississippi River which made it important to U.S business. This is important because this territory doubled the size of the country and was the largest purchase.
  • Lewis & Clark Expedition

    Lewis & Clark Expedition
    Lewis and Clark were 2 men chosen by Thomas Jefferson to explore the Louisana Purchase in the western land. They were told by Jefferson to document everything such as the indians, animals samples, map geography of the west, and etc. They traveled along the Mississipi and Columbia River to the Pacific Ocean. This was important because it was the turning point for American West.

    The war in 1812 was the U.S declaring against Britain, War started because British attempted to restrict trade, Then sailors and americans were held captive by Royal Navys for wanting to expand.There were many battles to occur before the treaty was signed in Ghent, Belgum. Americans had won war after attacking the British. This is important because they once again defeated British and established themselves as a new country.

    The Oregon Trail was a 2000 mile trail from Missouri to Oregon. People left for a new life in Oregon. On this trip many people had died and even one group had to go to extreme measures to survive. This is important because it helped people to start off with a new life.

    The Gold Rush started in 1849 when a man named James Marshall discovered gold. Then news about it got around which made all prospectors known for "49ers" rush to San Francisco, California. They had took 3 major routes and there were many things faced getting to California. This is important because California population had increased.
  • Fugitive Slave Law

    Fugitive Slave Law
    The Fugitive Slave Law was a law that required citizens to take runaway slaves back to where they had come from. Many people were involved taking slaves back, but some were still strong-minded in which resulted to them getting a $1000 fine and 6 months in jail. When slaves were returned they were sent to judges. Whether a free slave or not most judges wanted their $10 dollars; so many of the colored people were accounted for "fugitive slave"
    This is important because many slaves were sent back.
  • Compromise of 1850

    The Compromise of 1850 was a balance between free and slave states. This is important because the northerners and southerners found this important to them to keep the number of free and slave states equal.Many people were starting to get upset when the balance of states were becoming unequal. This event is important because if one region was to have more states than the other, the larger one would have controll over the senate.
  • Dred Scott Case

    Dred Scott Case
    Dred Scott was a colored man. He was the slave of a military docter who lived in Missouri, but traveled to many free states. While in Wisconsin, the free state, the docter died. So his children went their to collect inheritances which included Dred. However Dred took them to court because his owner died and he was in a free state which made him a free man and the people in the North agreed. This is important because although he was verified to be a free man the Supreme Court disagreed.
  • John Brown's Raid

    John Brown's Raid
    John Brown was a radiacal abolitionist who wanted to start a rebellion. Brown and his 9 sons had raided the arsenal at Harpar's Ferry, Virginia to give the stolen weapons to slaves. He sent this plan to many people, but no slaves what so ever knew about his plan. After they had all the weapons they were captured. This is important because John Brown was mentally ill and he didn't regret what he did to try and help slaves.
