  • 9/11 Attacks

    9/11 Attacks
    On September 11th four passenger airlines were high jacked by Al-Qaeda terrorists. The planes originally headed for California were turned and aimed at different targets in the US. The planes destined for the twin towers and the Pentagon reached their targets, but the plane headed for Washington was taken over by the passengers who turned it towards an empty field in Pennsylvania. After the hijackings "The War on Terror" presumed and US national security was tightened up. (wikipedia.com).

    Attack on US Consulate in Karachi
    On June 14 a suicide bomber with a fertilizer bomb drove his truck into the consulate detonating the bomb killing 12 and injuring 51 all of which were Pakistanis. Al- Qanoon took responsibility for the attack but it was speculated that Al- Qanoon was attached to Al- Qaeda and the war on Terror. (Wikipedia.com).

    Hurricane Claudette
    Began as a tropical wave in the eastern Caribbean but quickly moved westward remaining a tropical storm until reaching Port O' Conner, Texas where it strengthened into a category 1 hurricane. It caused death in Texas mainly due to high winds and unpredictable paths. (Wikipedia.com)

    Burlington County Flood
    A severe storm hit Burlington County, NJ bringing along 13in of rain. This heavy rain caused dams to break resulting in serious flooding. More than 750 people had to be evacuated loosing their homes to the devastating disaster. This left these people with no where to stay and the restoration cost a small fortune in order to return the residence to their homes. (infoplease.com)

    When I turned three everyone expected me to play basketball. My grand mom gave me one of the mini courts and being three I had no idea what to do with it. But with my dad being a former basketball player it was presumed I would be too. For the next few years that was what I focused on.

    Oklahoma Bombing
    Around 7:30 p.m. a bomb detonated about 200 yards west of the Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in which 84,501 spectators were enjoying the game. The bomber Joel Hinrichs III was killed in the blast but their were no other casualties. An investigation took progress to try and see if there was any connection to a specific terrorist group. The investigation concluded that Joel acted alone but his motivation and intentions are still a mystery. (fbi.gov)

    Naveed Haq an American citizen of Pakistani decent killed a woman and injured five others at the Jewish Federation building in Seattle. He stated he was angry with United States foreign policy in the Middle East. Being of Middle Eastern origin he declared that he was acting on behalf of those in the Middle East. (Wikipedia.org)

    US Courthouse
    Multiple pipe bombe detonated at 1:40 am at the Edward J. Scwartz United States Courthouse in San Diego causing damage to the entrance and the lobby sending shrapnel two blocks away but causing no injuries. The attack was linked to an explosion at a FedEx building on April 25.

    Andrew Stack flew his single engine plane into the Austin Texas IRS building killing himself and one IRS employee and injuring thirteen others. Stack left a suicide note online comparing the IRS to Big Brother from the novel 1984. (wikipedia.com)
  • Home Run

    Home Run
    When I was nine I decided to play baseball for a little bit and see how I liked it. I was an average player and I had never hit a home run before. One game a kid on my team smashed the ball into oblivion getting a home run to win the game. I decided I wanted to do that so I waited until next game determined. When game day came I was prepared and I knew I could hit a homer. When I got up to bat I struck out and became less optimistic. I came up to bat again and on the first pitch... BAM home run.

    The Award
    When I was younger I was really big o getting tons of service hours. I tried time and time again to achieve the Presidents award but I could never get to it. When the time of the award assembly came around once again I didn't expect much because I had sort of given up on the hours. As they called names I noticed I hadn't been called yet for low hours and I knew that meant I had a chance. Finally the Presidential award was announced and... I was one of the recipients, my first presidential award.

    Adam Lanza was believed to have killed his mother before going to the school. He then took three guns from his home and proceeded to shoot and entrance into the school. Three faculty members went to investigate what was happening and only one returned alive. The school went on lock down.     Boston Marathon Bombing
    Two bombs detonated within seconds of each other near the finish line of the Boston Marathon killing three people and injuring more than 180.The suspects where found on the 18th and a police chase ensued in which they threw several IED'S. One suspect was killed while the other escaped. House to house searches were conducted but eventually called of and shortly after the second suspect was found hiding in a parked boat only three blocks from the shootout scene and was detained.     I was very worried going into seventh grade because at the time it seemed like a huge leap. I wondered how I would do in my classes and if I could maintain good grades for as long as possible. The start of the year was shaky but as I progressed I started doing better and better. When the school year ended I was anxious to know how I had done. Turned out there was no worry because I came out with all A's and B's.

    Zale Thompson injured two New York City Police Department officers in a shopping center as they posed for a photo. He charged them resulting in his death and the injury of a civilian.     Planned Parenthood Shooting
    Robert L. Dear, armed with an assault rifle opened fire at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic. Two civilians and one police officer were killed, and four civilians and five police officers were wounded before the Dear surrendered. Dear told police "No more baby parts" after being taken into custody. (wikipedia.com).

    Coding
    I had been unsure of what I wanted to do in the future as a career for a long time. I was on the fence because y dad said I should stick with basketball but I was interested in other things. I finally realized that the most interesting and fun job would be digital design/ coding. I had always loved the concept of creating figures and entire landscapes so I thought why not, might as well try it. Now I just have to take the right steps to start myself down that path.
  • Great Grandmom

    Great Grandmom
    At the end of summer my family took a trip up to New York to go to a party for a friend. While we were there we decided to surprise my 98yr old great grandma. She lives in Buffalo, NY and we don't see her often so we thought it would be fun to visit. She was happy to see us and insisted we spend the night almost not letting us leave. I hope she keeps going until 104 or longer.

    I cant wait until I get my license and my dad decided why not get a head start on learning. So as we came home from my brothers soccer game he got out the car and told me to drive the rest of the way home. When I pulled up in front of our house and parked neatly my dad said I would be fine when getting my license.
