Quebec was founded by Chaplain in July, 1608 with 24 other men. In April of 1609 only 8 of the 24 men survived. -
Etienne Brule leave settlements to live with Hurons
Etienne Brule was sent to live with the Huron as part of an exchange made by Champlain and the Huron at the age of 18. During his stay with the Huron he learned to speak their language and learnt their customs. Brule lived with the Hurons for over 20 years until eaten by the Hurons, when Chaplain accused him of being a trator. -
