    Christopher Columbus
    -Christopher Columbus sailed the sea in 1492, to search for a new route to Asia, to get riches.
    -He thought he found the West Indies, but what he actually found was the Bahamas.
    -This voyage was important because not only did he find new land, he sparked some insarations for other explorers to sail.

    Hernan Cortez
    -Hernan Cortes explored Mexico, and conqored the Aztecs.
    -The importance of his exploration would be that he helped spike the thoughts/want to find and explore new land.

    Alonso Álvarez de Pineda
    • De Pineda explored and mapped the route from Florida to Mexico. -First to map out the coast. -Arrived at Corpus Christy, giving it that name because he landed there on the Holiday. -He is important to exploration becasue he helped make more people to explore the Texas area to find more things (gold).

    -This happened by Barge(s) sunk, and floated to Galveston.

    -The tribes that he met were the Karankawas, Jumanos/Puebolan.

    -Searched for Quivera, Seven cities of gold
    -Esteban-First, Himself/ The Turk
    -Esteban went into Indian village, got killed for forcing them for their women and gold.
    -Texas and New Mexico
    -Told of city larger and grander than Mexico city, filled with gold. Not true.

    -Indians think he's a God because he shows up in gold armour, he says yes, but, when he dies, they can't bury him because they know if the Indians dig him up, the will get mad because they thought he was a God, so they threw him in the Mississippi River.
