He was a part of a Spanish expedition that started in Florida to find gold. He was probably there around 9 years. He encountered the Karankawas which took them in for 4 years. -

Their purpose was to study the land to the north Evaluate. Esteban dies and Fray Marcos reported that the 7 cities of gold exists. -

De Soto was the leader but Moscoso took over after his death, Moscoso reported the same thing as Coronado; therefore Spain didn't return for 150 years. -

Coronado's expedition
The two cities were the 7 cities of Cibola and Quivera. The Turk was Coronado's guide but Coronado put the Turk to death. He discovered Texas - Palo Duro and Arizona - Grand Canyon. He gave a bad report on Texas which later Moscoso agrees and the Spanish do not return with any expeditions for 150 years.
