    Columbus's Exploration
    Columbus had sailed for Spain, because they needed the money after a war they had. He was hoping to find a trade route to Asia, but ended up in the New World (Americas). He had landed on many places, such as the present-day Bahammas and San Salvador. He brought back gold and goods, which started exploration in the New World.

    Corteś Exploration
    Corteś came to the New World from Spain, hoping to find riches. He had landed in present-day Mexico where the Aztecs lived. They welcomed Corteś and his men and treated the like gods. That mistake led the conquistadors to conquer the Aztec empire and claim Mexico as New Spain. Also, Corteś had so much gold (6 billion dollars worth!), that his exploration sparked others to the New World.

    Pineda's Exploration
    Pineda's expidition was finding a water route that lead to the Pacific Ocean. He had sailed from the Southeast coast from Florida to Texas, mapping it all. This had led other expiditions to be around this area.

    De Vaca Discovers Texas
    When De Vaca and some of his remaining crew shipwrecked on Galveston, due to a storm, they see that only a few survivors remain, and the amount rapidly decreases. He was captured by the Karankawas, and somehow lived on as a healer and madicine man throughout many different Indian tribes. It wasn't until about 1537 that he actually finds fellow Spaniards.

    Frar Marcos and Esteban
    These two were going to the north to find abd see if Chibola, which is a huge city made out of gold, exists. Wheb they got there, Estaban died because he demanded for woman and food. Frar Marcos ended up saying that Chibola does indeed exist, which led to the sending of the Coronado expidition.

    Coronado's Search for Cibola and Quivera
    Coronado was sent to the New World to find the seven cities of Gold. Of course, he only found a small tribe of Indians. Then, there was The Turk, who made up another lie that there was another city called Quivera. After mich more traveling, they found Quivera to also be a small tribe of Indians, so he killed the Turk. Along the way, however, Coronado discovered two important present-day canyons and present-day Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and more. His exploration also stopped expiditions.

    De Soto and Moscoso

    De Soto and Moscoso
    They were in the New World to find gold. After exploring Florida and Texas, they made another report similiar to Coronado's, which signified that nothing was there. As a result, this stopped all Spanish exploration.
