    After exploring North Florida, De Vaca and his men were attacked by Indians, after surviving the attacks, they built 5 boats and went off to sea. He ran into a storm. This storm crash landed him in what is today know as Galveston Texas. He met the Karankawa tribe and stayed their for 4 years.

He discovered the Grand Canyon and Palo Duro Canyon. This is important because he reported no Gold in Texas and Spain never returned for 150yrs.
