Cortes conqured the Aztecs on his trip to Mexico, which was important because as he conqured them he stamped out a major and well developed civilization which may have been very advanced if left to florish. -

Pineda's voyage
Pineda set out to try to find an eastern water route from The Gulf to the Pacific. He did not find a water route, but he was the first to map the gulf coast. This gave future exlorers a guide to sailing the cost of the gulf and led to futer explorations along that route. -

De Vaca's Voyage Part One
De Vaca went on a voyage led by Narveaz, not as a conquistator but as a note keeper. The voyage set out to find gold from Florida to Texas. -

De Vaca's Journey
Narvaez' crew got stranded on the tip of Florida, eating their horses to survive. Eventually, they built makeshift rafts and tried to sail back to Cuba, but got blown all the way Texas, where they crashed on Galveston. Only 15 men survived the winter, and De Vaca became lost for 8 years, meeting the Karankawas, Cohuiletecans, and Jumanos, before meeting up with other Spaniards. -

Frey Marucos and Estaban's Journey
Fey Marcos And Esteban set out to confirm the 7 cities of gold and to convert natives, and they split up to meet up at the fabled city. Esteban was killed by the natives in the city, and Frey Marcos told the king and queen he saw the city of gold, when in reality he did not. -

Moscoso's Expedition was led by DeSoto, but he died of plague. He confirmed Coronado's accustations about the horrible Texas. -

Coronado's Expedition
Coronado was sent to comfirm the 7 cities of gold, and was not pleased when he saw Cibola was a native village with the hostile ZunisThe Turk lead him to Quivera, in which he got angry because he found no gold and strangled The Turk. He discovered the Palo Duro and Grand Canyon, but reported that Texas was terrible,halting exploration for around 150 years.
