Although Columbus was originaly looking for India (to trade for silk and other goods) he stumbled upon America. This accident was important because it sparked the exploration of America. -

He conquered Mexico City from the Aztec's and now it is 1 of the largest cities in the world. -

He was the first man to map the coast which, was the guide lines for many explorers. -

DeVaca Discovers Texas
He was trying to sail to Cuba (after being abandoned) when he crashed in Galveston due to a gale and stayed here for 7 years. The Karankawas took him in and that how he learned so much about the Indians. -

The Begining of DeVaca's Voyage
Narves was his original captian while they were explorering Pineda's map. This event was important because when he was left by the ships he learned a lot about the Indians. -

Fray Marcos and Esteban Journey
They were supposed to confirm the story of Cibola but, Esteban was killed and when Frey Marcos looked for him he said he saw a city of gold bigger than Mexico City. This started the exploration of Texas. -

Moscoso’s Expedition
De Soto was his leader but died so was burried unburried and dumped in the Missippi River. This was important because just like Coronado they gave bad reports and prevented any MAJOR exploration for the next 150 years. -
