Columbus First Voyage
Columbus was finding a west water route to Asia India. He found North and South America, but did not knew it was a New World, he brought back gold and other goods. Its importance is that he started the spanish exploring in North america because of the riches he found. -

Cortes Voyage
Cortes conquered the Aztecs and leader Montezuma, he brought back 6 million dollars worth of gold and 99 tons of gold by is 70. Its importance is that he sparked the interest of many people to explore North and South America becausse he found so much gold. -

Pineda was the first to map the gulf coast from Florida to Texas he made a report of the region. Its importance is that his map of the coast led others exploring the land of the gulf coast. -

From De Vaca's Voyage the leader was Narvez and De Vaca help'd Narvez look for gold. -

De Vaca Discovers Texas
De Vaca was the first to explore Texas, he first started the expeditionin florida with narvez as the leader with 300 men, they built 5 boats to go back to Cuba. They shipwrecked on galveston with 80 survivors. he lived with the Karankawas for 4 years. They nursed them back to health but dome died in winter. Their leader Narvez died. De Vaca got separated from others and became the indians slave. he performed surgery. They escaped, later were found in California 8 years later. -

Fray Marcos and Esteban journey
Esteban was the first black man in Texas, Esteban said he would go ahead and send white crosses as signs to Fray Marcos. They killed by the zunis for demanding their women and food. Fray Marcos reports seeing the most beutiful grand and golden city. -

Moscoso's Expedition
The leader was De Soto. They wanted to be the first to explore Florida since noone had done that after Pinedas made the map. moscoso went to explore east Texas. Its importance is that Moscoso explored Florida to Texas and discovered the Mississippi river. He reported basicly the same thing as Coronado did, he said Spain would not return for 150 years because of these reports. -

Coronado's Expedition
Coronado was looking for gold in the seven cities of gold but only searched on five and found no gold. The two cities that he searched for was Zuni the indian village and also a city called Quivera. Its importance of Coronado's journey is that he reported to not go to Texas the land offers nothing for the spanish. No gold, harsh land, and some difficult indians.
