It was important, because the spanish started exploring in North America.

It was important because, he sparked the interest of many people to explore North and South america.

Pineda

Pineda was the first to map the Gulf Coast from Florida to Texas.
Pinedas map of the Gulf Coast led to others exploring the land on the Gulf Coast.

De Vacas Voyage Start Day

The leader of the voyage was Narvez.
The purpose of the voyage was to help Narvez find gold.

DeVaca discovers Texas

Nov 6, 1528

DeVaca discovered texas by accident. His ship wrecked on Galveston Island. DeVaca was there for 32 years.

Fray Marcos and Esteban Journey

The purpose of the journey was to study the north land. Fray Marcos claimes seeing city filled with gold, that looked bigger than Mexico.

Moscoso' Expedition

The leader of the expedition was DeSoto. The purpose of the expedition was to search for gold. The outcome was that Moscoso gave a bad report back saying, the land offered nothing, no gold, harsh land, and mean indians.Spain would not return for 150 years because of these reports.

Coranados expedition

Jan 1, 1540

Coranado set off on an expedition to find the "7 cities of gold." He searched for Cibola and then Quivera. The outcome of the trip was that Coranado found Palo Duro canyon in Texas and the Grand Cayon in Arizona and the spanish do not return with any major expedition.
