He confirmed that Florida was not an island as was thought. He aslo explored the Gulf Coast. -

DeVaca's Voyage
DeVaca set sail from Spain. The leader of the expedition was Narvaez. He landed in Florida and ended up in Galveston. He lost three boats. He became a medicine man and worked withe Karankawan Indians; -

DeVaca Discovers Texas
DeVaca ended up in Texas by shipwreck. He was there from 1529-1534. -
May 18, 1539
Moscoso's Expedition
He set sail with DeSoto. He was seeking gold and riches from the native people. He was the last to explore the Mississippi area. He reached Mexico. -
Apr 22, 1540
Coronado's Expedition
He was looking for the Seven Cities of Gold, (Cibola). He discovered the Grand Canyon.
